Dunno about booing, but I saw someone waving a large Canadian flag in the audience =)
I agree about the booing. Neither the time nor the place.

The inaugural parade went right past the Canadian embassy, so there were quite a few Canadian flags flying at one point, and a unit of "mounties" in full uniform saluting from the steps of the embassy. I thought it was a nice tribute.

neardc, I am so excited for you!! I loved watching it on TV, and it was great to see so many ordinary citizens of DC and its suburbs out there enjoying the historic day. As you know all too well, so often there is a huge disconnect between "official" Washington and "real" Washington, who often only rub elbows at Redskins games!

Yeah, that is nice ... but I mean in the mall area where hundreds of thousands were gathered for the inaugural address. I just thought it was amusing to see in the crowd of people gathered for the changing of the U.S. president.

Apparently, there were a number of spectators from other countries - CNN interviewed a lady from the Bahamas and another from Trinidad; and apparently one of their Kenyan-born correspondents found a small group from Kenya who were all celebrating. It was fun to watch.

I didn't realize they were admitting foreigners into the capital that day ...
