Here's my question.

Israel was drawn up and created byGreat Britianafter WW2 and Palestine was virtually erased. All part of a break-up of British imperialism. I fully understand why the Palestinians are p!$$ed 0ff.

That's not exactly how it happened. The partition agreement, approved by the UN, created two countries: Palestine and Israel. Palestine declared war on and invaded Israel the very day Israel became a nation, with support of allied arab nations of course. Something like 90% of Israel was occupied by Arab armies at one point. The Israelis got their act together and counter attacked, driving Arab armies from their country.

And the Palestinians have been fighting every since. Sorry, but if you go off and start a war and then lose it, bad things are going to happen to you. Like the loss of territory Jordan and Egypt suffered as a consequence of starting and losing the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

The only people on the Palestinian side I have sympathy for are the young children that are too young to understand what's happening or what they believe. The rest of the Palestinians have made their choice and they will have to live with the consequences of it. These are the people who cheered American deaths on 9/11 and would kill every single Jew in the world if they were able to. I have no sympathy for them whatsoever. My hope is that Israel's armies gain a swift and decisive victory over their enemies.

James just one correction - it was Israel and (Trans) Jordanthat the UN created out of unincorporated territory called the British mandate of Palestine. West of the Jordan River was Israel for the Jews: east was Jordan for the Arabs. Of course having any Jews in the area (or even alive) was unacceptable for the bloodthirsty Arabs and they basically declared war the next day. And got their azzes kicked, like they have with every conflict.

What are called "Palestinians" are merely displaced (or castoff) Egyptian and Jordanian arabs. There has never been an independent state of Palestine. Ever.

These medieval and barbaric freaks voted in this terrorist (Hamas) government. You're right; they also danced and cheered on 9/11 when 3,000 Americans were incinerated and crushed to death by their fellow madmen. I have ZERO sympathy for them. F-them - go Israel!

with the Sykes-Picot agreement (1916), palestine was divided into two entities- the eastern 2/3s eventually became Trans-Jordan (palestine on the other side of the jordan river)- Trans-Jordan dropped "Trans" from it's namein1949becoming "Jordan" in an effective marketing campaign- we have all forgotten that Jordan is also palestine. the western 1/3 remained the british mandate. in 1917, the Balfour Declaration expressed britian's desire to see the remaining part of palestene become a jewish home state.

so, the jews got 1/3, the arabs (and that is what palestinians are...) got 2/3s. in 1947, the U.N. decided to divide the remaining part of palestine- AGAIN. the jews have ended up with a tiny sliver of landed for a country hugging the mediterranean sea-board. the arabs have multiple countries stretching from iraq to morocco. if palestinian arabswant a home-land, they should move east of the jordan river. that was what was created in 1916 for arabs living in palestine.

for multiple reasons- i will continue to support israel- right or wrong. all countires are wrong from time to time- even our own (which may be wrong more often that not.) when the countries of the world all line up agains israel- expect me to migrate there. because that will then be the only safe place to be.

May I clarify for the record that the quotes cited by dwreese are absolutely, horrifyingly false. No Jewish leaders have claimed that Jews are the superior race, want to rule the world... ad nauseum. This sounds like chatter from Iran radio.I am not a proponent of EH excessive moderation but that crazy talk should have been moderated.

And I don't know what they teach luvablefrog at her institutions but fake quotes attributed to Menachem Begin did not "bring on the Halocaust (sic)."

Notyet is right that the situation is complicated - agonizingly so. A two state solution seems to be the only viable means to ensure that all have land, peace, security. The Palestinians are not going to disappear or be "disappeared", vanish into Syria, etc. The Israelis certainly won't . Jewish history is too rich in examples of where that tried but failed, B-H.
First off, I didn't say he said it, I said QUOTES LIKE THIS... people who think this way. I am 100% behind Israel, no questions asked. As notyet said for many reasons and I too, would migrate there if possible and nessecary! The Israelis have had to give up so much, and the Palestinians have WAAAY more land. What the world fails to realize is that the nation of Israel cannot and willnot be defeated for long, and the nations would be well advised to stand behind her.

How can someone say something as ignorant as "I am behind whatever or whomever 100% no questions asked"? That is like saying you support George Bush 100% no questions asked. Everyone should be questioned.

Like I said before, both sides have their fallacies. It is between them though. The rest of the world needs to stay out of it. Israel is ranked something like 4th or 5th in the world when it comes to military power. They can hold their own against those rag tag armies of that area.

These clerics are no better than the leadership in Germany under Hitler.
A short reading of history will show that most of those clerics fathers and grandfathers actually didget their political ideology from the Nazis. There are a number of links between the creators of today's islamic radicals and the Nazi party.

So you support a purging of muslims from their homes? Sounds kind of like a christian extremist statement. Makes ya no better than the "terrorists". Psst, btw, they are not "terrorists". That's just made up to scare the common folk.
