I knew we'd eventually agree on something.

You sound like a bunch of sore losers, guys. I know it's a pain to be on the losing side after an election, but surely there's a better way to handle it. How about trying to contribute something positive to the GOP, if you care about it so much? I'd say it needs an overhaul, and a better way to appeal to a broader group of voters.

For the last 40 years liberals have really illustrated the level of contempt people can bring themselves to. The terrible and disturbing part about their behavior is their ability to desensitize themselves and inoculate themselves form their own behavior. Liberals believe that because they have good intentions and that their motives are valid, they can appoint themselves as moral judicatures.

Liberals always claim to know exactly what to do as soon as it’s too late. As long as liberals refuse to concede a point, it remains ‘unsettled’, Liberals think they can defeat the truth with loudness. When they don't like an answer they just repeat or rephrase a question in the hopes that at some point they'll hear an answer they approve of, there by making it a substantive response.

Liberals hold others to standards they themselves can't achieve.

Its only a worthy cause if a Liberal approves it. Its only a legitimate argument if Liberals agree with it. Its only intelligent if they can intellectualize it. Its only Legitimate news if they report it. Its only Legal if they sanction it. The Electoral System is fair as long as they win. The court of Law and the US Constitution only works when it favors them. The US is only a legitimate Government while they have power in it.
well said. here here

Wow, it is amazing how BS can be propagated by the ignorant.

Fact:
The US economy does better when there is a Democrat in office. This is not due to anything more than the result of making sure that you do not spend more than you make.

Go there. Look at the facts. Every Republican since Nixon has spent more than the government made. Every Democrat since Johnson has brought in more revenue than was spent.

The belief that Democrat are the big spenders and fiscally irresponsible is in truth a result of propaganda from the ultra rich that make their billions by ripping off the American people after putting their stooges in power.
If you make less than 150,000 a year you are a victim and if you support their policies you are a willing victim.
If you make more than a million a year and support their policies, I only have one thing to say to you, "Stop stealing my children's future and GFY!"

I also think it is time for people to stop saying things like "The Intellectual Elite" like it is a bad thing. This is something only dumb, ignorant people do. I do not want to depend on some average plumber dumbass to run my country. I want the guy in charge to be smarter than me. Why wouldn't I do the job myself if I didn't think a smarter person could do it better?

clue, the guy in office only approves the budget. he does not make it up. Congress does the budget. so who signs it into law is not quite as important as who drafted the law.

A couple of points here. In the case of insurrection, there is no guarantee that the Army or NG would follow orders to shoot civilians. They may, they may not.

I've also often wondered (and worried?) about this same exact thing. Given that the disparity of wealth between the UBER-haves, and the have-NOTHINGS has NEVER been greater in the history of this nation (and growing wider by the millisecond), what would those Guardsmen/Army grunts do exactly? I'm talking FULL SCALE, physical,'class' war here.

Could they actually turn their weapons on their relatives, friends, children, fellow poor citizenry on the word of a wealthy, FAR right, uncaring/heartlessdemagogue? Is their 'sworn allegiance' that strong??? (Kent State notwithstanding.)

I certainly hope NOT!!!!!!

Let's not forget that the use of US military assets against US citizens is proscribed by law, and that any military commander would be completely justified, under current military law, for refusing an order to fire upon US citizens.

The notion that we need to 'protect ourselves' against the US government's military forces is pretty much absurd. The soldiers don't blindly follow every order, no matter how illegal. Even if such a situation developed, it's far more likely that you'd have the vast majority of units that refuse the order subduing and disarming the few that obeyed.

And as The Priestess pointed out, any weapons we civilians might own or reasonably acquire are simply no match for the level of armaments our military can assign in quantity. Heck, it doesn't even have to be an M1. One B-1 or B-52 could level square blocks and never come within range of any weapon held by a civilian. What good is a rifle - any rifle - against that?

Much as I advocate for gun-owners rights and support the Second Amendment, the argument that we need to 'protect ourselves from our own government' really shouldn't be part of the discussion, IMHO.
People usualy stay on whichever side their bread is buttered on,some would refuse but i think most would mow us down without a second thought,it should be part of the discussion, there is no reason to exclude anything even if it makes you feel bad.
