I've seen somewhere in the neighborhood of 500-1000 shows since my first (Rush at the Irvine Ampitheater in '84), so it's REALLY hard to narrow them all down. The most memorable ones, though, were the Organic Festival '96 (electronica fest - best show EVER), Oingo Boingo's last show (got in for free... LONG story), U2's Joshua Tree LA Colosseum show (2nd row), New Order and The Eurythmics (not together, but both were in '88), Depeche Mode with Electronic at Dodger Stadium (1990?), and the Eagles first official reunion night. The groups that I've seen consistantly over the years are Rush, Underworld, Oingo Boingo and Depeche Mode. With the exception of the last (who've gotten horrible after Violator), they've all been excellent. I'm also going to my first show in over a year on NYE in Downtown LA (electronica/dance show at the Bonaventure). I'm really looking forward to it (and hopefully, not going alone, either ).

My best show so far is the Broken Social Scene/Land of Talk show a fews years ago at the Variety Playhouse in ATL. Then Starf**ker at Criminal Records in ATL last year. They played a short show before they play the Drunken Unicorn show later that night. I have never heard of Starf**ker before then and they blew me away. I also went to their show later that night at the Drunken Unicorn. Very nice surprise.

Been a couple different ones.

Most KMFDM shows I've been to, especially the '97 tour with Pig and the Sturm & Drang tour, plus last years 25th Anniversary.

Also the Enslaved/Opeth show I saw last year was great, last night of the tour makes for some pretty great moments from both bands.

But most recently was last week's Middi Ghetto Tour. Chemlab back home in DC, Left Spine Down (who I had never heard of but was pretty entertaining even though some guys in the back were jerks to them, great Nirvana cover to close their set) and the band I went to see 16 Volt. I'm most likely going to wind up youtube when they post their concert footage (shot by Left Spine Down's lead singer). Got to talk with Steve White (of KMFDM who always makes time to chat) and Mark Peoples of 16 Volt who probably should not have taken my "medical advice" if their twitter feed is any indication....

The only show and the best show are one in the same for me. I saw The Cure at the Hollywood Bowl May 31 of 2008.
Not to sound blasphemous or anything, but I really felt closer to heaven at that show than I ever have felt going to chruch/mass.

I am a loser and haven't been to all that many concerts but the best one I have been to was with my ex-girlfriend back in November of 2008 we saw Electric Six play in Austin. What made this my favorite was simply the fact that it was the ONLY concert I have ever been to where the band was one of my favorites. It was the ONLY concert where I could sing along and scream and really rock out and enjoy the show. I have been to other concerts like most recent was The Cult with my most recent ex-girlfriend in September 2009 at Stubb's in Austin and the show was good and the music was good but I wasn't a fan and really had not listened to the band prior to the concert.

I really wanted to go see John Prine in Austin in February, I am a huge John Prine fan but I couldn't find the time or afford the tickets. I really hope John Prine tours Texas again as I would love to see him. His music is so powerful to me and he is really an amazing artist with great talent and a great sense of humor.
