OMG! I agree. Santana is one of my all time favorite guitar players. And if I could sing like Rob Thomas in the YouTube video SMOOTH (that I listen to ALL the time), WOW. I would also like to learn to dance like that! Great choice! I guess I better start practicing.

The last party I went to, the DJ played that while we were on the dance floor. The crowd loved it.
You bet you'd better start practicing! Seriously, anyone who can move, sing, AND play like that would have my complete and utter adoration!

Thanks! Dave has a style that's all his own. Sings from the heart. Can't believe on YouTube he says he talks because he gets nervous. How can he get nervous after all he's accomplished? My buddy can actually play and sing like Dave, and let me tell you, the women swoon......

Any one think Scorpion's Send Me An Angel or James Blunt's You're Beautiful is one of their top songs they'd want to hear? If not, what others. I'm getting some great suggestions here.

My last boyfriend was a guitarist. Unfortunately, that was one of his best qualities. Otherwise, we might still be together. Anyway, he played this instrumental by Bach. I know that's classical guitar and not everyone's thing, but it just made me melt. I think it was mostly the look he got on his face when he played it. He was really into it. There's a lot to be said about the delivery. A bad delivery can ruin a great song. Other genres? Country - Josh Turner's "Your Man" - It's a great song, but the man's voice is pure paradise!; Rascal Flatts' version of "God Bless the Broken Road"; Rock - Bon Jovi's "Til We Ain't Strangers Anymore" Never mind that Jon Bon Jovi is one of the sexiest men on the planet and continues to be more so the older he gets. "We've Got Tonight" by Bog Seger is great. Classics - "The Way You Look Tonight" done by Sinatra, more recently by Rod Stewart, and a few others. Country - Dierks Bentley's "Come a Little Closer Baby." OK, I could go on and on. Need more sugguestions?

ok, I'll jump in, too! Cheesy I am. I love Rascal Flatt's "God Bless the Broken Road.",REO Speedwagon's "Can't fight this feeling" (I KNOW it's cheesy!), Elvis's "Can't Help falling (in love with you)" Anything by Chicago- so much romance in their songs :P. Bon Jovi's "Born to be my Baby" or "Thank you for Loving Me" - check it out- GREAT song! I'm also partial to "Danny's Song."- the Anne Murray version's my fav.

I'll quit gushing now, but I think a guy singing to a girl is so sweet and romantic.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm going to check each one out as I have done all the others. I also play classical. "We've got tonight" is a good one that I forgot about.

Nothing wrong with cheesy. I'll check all of these out.

Yes, a guitar can be a chick magnet, and even though I don't have a great voice, I'm willing to risk it. It does make for a sweet and romantic evening.

Well, I went to YouTube and got caught up on all these recent suggestions. The top ones were: (in no particular order)

Your Man - Josh Turner. I can uderstand women liking his sexy deep voice. That video with him and that blonde was HOT.

Til we ain't strangers anymore - Bon Jovi. Now if I can find a woman to accompany me that can sing that Leeann Rimes (extra points if she also looks like her!)

Come a little closer baby - Dierck Bentley.

Gee, 2 out of 3 were country and I don't even like country. But these are great songs for that quiet evening with your parter.

So you're enjoying the evening, totally relaxing with each other, and he pulls out a guitar. What song would you want him to play and maybe even sing for you that would make the evening a ten plus.

(Yes, I'm a guitar player and looking for new songs to learn.)
You will see some of my favorites on the Videos on UK Singles - the first one that would do it for me would be " The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face " Roberta Flack - but to hear a man sing this would be beautiful.

Another, which you will find on my Videos on UK Singles is " Killing me Softly with His/Her Song " ;-) That would do the trick as well !!

And something, down the line in a romance, which would be a great success is " Lay Lady Lay " Bob Dylan. Again you'll hear this one on UK Singles.

Then there are the two Beatles songs on my profile which are sweet.

But what he would chose from his own heart would no doubt be the best choice that I would love to listen to.

Good thread and a very romantic question by the way. Nice to meet you.

Very beautiful suggestions. love Roberta Flack.

Lay Lady Lay was one of my favorites growing up, and fairly suggestive. Was even more that way once I bought a brass bed! I still have that bed.

Now going to find that site "my videos on UK Singles(?)".

Thanks Kay_ok. I almost feel guilty where it's just me and all these great women responding. But I did say "almost"...

Kay,

I went to your site and listened to the Beatles. Brought back some memories. Even though I haveplayed "And I Love Her", I think I'll practice it more and make it more classical. It is a very good guitar song and would show some of my guitar playing skills, as well as it being very romantic.

Thanks again!
