When I was young I had a double tier organ and was taking lessons to learn to play...I was decent at it but preferred playing outside with my friends to staying in and practicing, so....my parents ultimately sold it.

I do regret not keeping up with it!

How about you? Do you play any musical instruments?

I haven't played any instrument in a long while. I played flute in school and still have one collecting dust in the closet! Also have a guitar in said closet.

We had a piano (briefly!) when I was young, but it was near our TV set and my brothers always complained when I tickled the ivories. So, like your organ, it got sold. Would love to learn to play someday!

I was a music major in college and actually have 2 degrees in music, so I lay lots of instruments. Well, I play 'at' lots of instruments. I play piano and guitar pretty well. Used to play flute and mellophone in high school, but that was about a thousand years ago!

Lori and k9, I used to teach private piano lessons in my home, when I was a SAHM, and my very best students were usually adults who took for a little while when they were young and quite. I think you should both give it another try!

By the way, I live in a 3rd floor walk-up and have a piano. My daughter, who is extremely talented, plays and her brother always yells at her, too, k9!

wish I did, come to think of it I played the Boatswine Pipe, It is the "wisstle" that was used in the first Harry Potter movie. Pitch is changed by the way that you hold your hands over the end of the reed at the pea. I could play only the required calls for my job but one of my ship mates figered out a way to play tunes on it. It is also the pipe refured to in a "horn pipe" Mal Fisher found one in a ship Wreck off the Florida cost.

Piano, since about age 5. On and off but happily on at the moment -- mostly classical. Well enough that I can get lost in the music; not well enough anyone else would really want to hear it. lol!

Have made forays into clarinet, flute, dulcimer, pennywhistle, recorder, and LimberJack (an appalachian traditional percussion instrument, lots of fun!).

I like playing in groups but haven't done it for a long time. H'mmm. Perhaps I will seek that out ...

Been playing guitar since age ten (almost 40 years ago). Don't play in bands any longer but I occasionally contribute guest tracks to friends' albums. Also proficient with drums and bass guitar. I mostly record other people these days though I still enjoy playing.
