I'd heard of Pandora - lots - but a friend recently told me more about it, and I tried it, and OMG - I loooove it!

I have been using it for less than 24 hours and I already have a list of 12 new artists to check out.

That was just what I needed b/c I've been in a bit of a musical rut lately.

Do you use it? If so, what are you favorite stations?

I keep telling myself I'm going to use it.

I've even tried using it at work, but when you get 1200 kids, the staff, and the college just down the street all on the same Internet connection, the bandwidth is compromised a tiny bit (yes, that was sarcasm--I speak it fluently ).

I'm going to have to give this a go tomorrow, especially since I pay for cable and there's NOTHING ON. No, I'm not bitter. Just a little frustrated.

I'll have to come back and see if we've found any common stations that we like.

Lori, I also just recently began using it at work and love it. The first time I tried it I didn't see what the big deal was - it never seemed to give me exactly the song I was looking for. But like you, I've learned of some new artists/tunes using it, and I love that I can set it to hear only whatever particular genre I'm in the mood for at the time.

Since I use it at work, this comes in particular handy during times like the past couple of weeks, when it's my most chaotic, potentially high-stress time - I set it on the "Zen Garden"(title of a CD I own) station I created, and I hear only soothing type music that really does help me stay mellow.

I'm about to run out of the free 40 hours per month that non-subscribers are allotted, and I'm actually thinking about paying the $36 per year to have unlimited listening time - small price to pay for something I enjoy so much.

And that's probably way more feedback than anyone wanted, but I was glad to see the topic came up so I could do my part to spread the word.

I have been using it for a little over a year now (paid version= unlimited listening and song skipping), with daily usage climbing much higher after I got my smart phone that had the Pandora app for it.

I use it. I used to use it more, but I get frustrated when it plays a bunch of songs I don't know/don't like in a row. Some stations work much better for me than others... All my country stations play what I want them to. All my rap/hip-hop stations play crazy stuff that I don't really like. My pop stations are fine ("Just Dance" was my seed song for one of my favorites), but my rock stations aren't so good...

My problem is, my taste in music is very strongly affected by what is familiar to my ear. So, if I've heard it before, I'll probably smile when it comes on the radio. If I haven't heard it before, I'll probably change the channel. (Then how do I ever come to like new songs? Easy--by occasionally being too lazy/distracted to change the channel!) So, I don't like the high percentage of unknown songs on Pandora.

But now that somebody's brought it to my attention again, I'll probably start listening again... (I admit, I'm listening to it now! Look what you started. )

I love Pandora. I've had it for quite awhile. My favorite stations I created are Django Rheinhart, John Coltrane, Edith Piaf, Oasis, Underworld, Tool. I also like LastFm. They have a better repertoire of the Grungey/Alternative stuff I like. I also like that I can browse for concerts in my area.

I love Pandora and have been using it for a few years. I have recently found out about listen.grooveshark and I like it even better now. Besides radio stations, you can also listen to the whole albums of your artists.

Funny, Lori -

I've known about Pandora forever, and also only recently started using it too.

I started off with holiday classical musical for just something quiet in the background (and also because holiday music gives me the warm-fuzzies).

It led me to a lot of wonderful music and artists, and then it started playing the great "cheesier" holiday music (which I also love).

I'm a happy Pandora customer! Oh, and yes, I've created other stations, but so far that's where I've spent most of my time.

I have only been using Pandora for a short time, and have mixed feelings about it. My tastes in music are wide and varied, but inevitably, when I pick a modern artist, I wind up listening to artists from the 1940's. Don't get me wrong, some of those guys still rock today, but if I had wanted to listen to that era, I would have picked it to start with. Anyone else have that problem?
