I believe she is here to stay. I first saw her perform on Ellen about 2 years ago. And while I wasnt particularly fond of her performance, I certainly was intrigued.

She is a great songwriter. She does write bubblegum pop songs for the dance scene etc. And she did write songs for Britney Spears and others in her early career.

That said, she actually sings, she puts on a show that is visually entertaining. And she puts a lot of thought into what she does. It may not be for everyone, but obviously, she is doing something right.

Watch (skip to the 2min mark for the performance with Elton John)
YouTube - Lady Gaga - Poker Face/Speechless/Your Song (GRAMMYs on CBS)

I admire Lady Gaga, while she's not my idol or anything like that, I can't help but like her. Yes, she's 'different', but at least she's not the same cookie cutter stuff that keeps coming out. She can sing and I've seen a concert on YouTube where the background music went out and she kept preforming. She's truly good to her fans and I believe a nice person.

I have not heard any of her music but I did see a line from an interview, she said some thing right out of the 60's taht did not work for my generation, so let her sing but don't let her rule the world.
