I'm looking everyone for the best books on Pink Floyd. I searched Amazon, but there seems to be mixed results or reviews on almost any book written about them. I would like to learn more about the band, especially Syd Barrett.

Good question, I'd be interested in this as well.

In a radio interview with Waters, he mentioned the last time the band ever saw him.. they were recording the album Wish You Were Here, which was more or less about him, specifically the title track and Shine On..

They said he entered the control room during recording and they noticed he had shaved off his eyebrows and was doing jumping jacks while brushing his teeth. Waters asked him what he thought of the song "Shine On" I think it was, and he replied "I don't like it." and then left. They never saw him again.

As far as I know, he lived out his days at his mothers house, finger painting.. with the occasional grocery store spotting. Gilmore made sure he got his royalty checks personally.
