"You saw her bathing on the roof. Her beauty and the moonlight overthrough ya. She tied you to the kitchen chair. She broke your thrown and cut your hair and frome your lips she drew hallelujah." Great song off of Hymns of the 49th parallel

Some songs make me cry, some put me in a comtemplative mood and some stay with me forever. Just a few of my most beautiful:

Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong / At Last - Etta James / My Dearest Darling - Etta James / You Send Me - Sam Cook / These Arms of Mine - Otis Redding / Donna - Richie Valens / Comtemplation - Nina Simone / Trouble in Mind - Nina Simone / Surrender - Elvis Presley / Daniel - Elton John / Susanne - Harry Belafonte / Susanne - Nina Simone / Bird on a Wire - K.D. Lang / Hallelujah - K.D. Lang / Memories - The Temptations / Ava Maria - Aaron Neville / Say Amen - Howard Hewitt/ Call 911 - Mary J. Blige and Wyclef Jean / Sarah - Fleetwood Mac / I'm Like a Bird - Nellie Furtado / Blood Waltz - Johann Strauss / Autumn Leaves - George Shearing / Pride - John Legend / Lesson Learned - Alicia Keys / Bring Me a Higher Love - Chaka Khan /................and the list is endless
I suppose we are commenting on the performances of songs as well as the songs themselves, right? People tend to relate a song with its performing artist rather than its composer.

So maybe the topic could be "which songs or pieces do we consider to be the most beautiful and which performances of them are the ones who moved us?"

I agree about Daniel by Elton John—one of my favorites.

I'd definitely have to agree with these two songs. Music moves me also but for many people it doesn't.

I'd have to say...

"When I'm Gone" by 3 Doors Down - Lovve the beginning

"Secret Garden" by Bruce Springstein - Sounds timeless

"I Do It For You" by Bryan Adams - It's definitely worth trying for and dying for

"My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion - Love this shit

"With You" by Chris Brown - And this shit

"Breathing" by Lifehouse (and others by them which aren't coming to mind right now) - One of my favorites..

"Don't Wanna Close My Eyes" by Aerosmith - Neither do I

"Crash Into Me" by DMB - Hopefully not with your car...

"In The Deep" by Bird York - This is the one from "Crash"

"Thankyou" by Dido - "I'm late for work again, and even if I'm there, they'll all imply that I might not last the day".. story of my life.

"I'll Be" by Edwin McCain - Lovee the first line. What the hell does the second one mean?

"My Immortal" by Evanescence - What a voice.. "I'm tired of being here" - sounds like me at work.

"100 Years" & "Superman" by Five For Fighting - Kinda sad, but hey :-/

"Your Body Is A Wonderland" by John Mayer - It really is, I swear.

"La Isla Bonita" by Madonna - It's almost like I'm on the island!!

"Hero" by Mariah Carey - What a song?!

"Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's - This guy must get so much ass.

"I Believe I Can Fly" by R.Kelly - Especially when I'm wasted.

"Forever Young" by Rod Stewart - Wish I could be, though 24 isnt too old :-/

"Truly, Madly, Deeply" by Savage Garden - Bah, can't think of a good one for this song

"Kiss From A Rose" by Seal - Never really understood this song, but hes got a nice voice.

"Broken" by Seether - First part is awesome!! Amy Lee's voice doesn't hurt either.

"Meant To Live" by Switchfoot - This song always reminds me to keep dreaming big.

"Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls - This song needs better title."The Freshmen" by The Verve Pipe - Anybody know what this one's about??

Ohhhh, and how could I forget... "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot. Hah.. just kidding, but good song nonetheless.

Nothing like a nice short list right?..
