Many the Miles is one of my favs but from a female perspective I love Fairy Tale. I'm attaching the lyrics but its so much better when you can hear it, rather than just read it!

Cinderella's on her bedroom floor
She's got a
Crush on the guy at the liquor store
Cause Mr. Charming don't come home anymore
And she forgets why she came here
Sleeping Beauty's in a foul mood
For shame she says
None for you dear prince, I'm tired today
I'd rather sleep my whole life away than have you keep me from dreaming

[Chorus:]
'cause I don't care for your fairytales
You're so worried about the maiden though you know
She's only waiting on the next best thing

Snow White is doing dishes again cause
What else can you do
With seven itty-bitty men?
Sends them to bed and calls up a friend
Says will you meet me at midnight?
The tall blonde lets out a cry of despair says
Would have cut it myself if I knew men could climb hair
I'll have to find another tower somewhere and keep away from the windows

[Chorus]

Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom
Man made up a story said that I should believe him
Go and tell your white knight that he's handsome in hindsight
But I don't want the next best thing
So I sing and hold my head down and I break these walls round me
Can't take no more of your fairytale love

[Chorus]

I don't care
I don't care
Worry bout the maiden though you know
She's only waiting spent the whole life being graded on the sanctity of patience and a dumb
Appreciation
But the story needs some mending and a better happy ending
Cause I don't want the next best thing
No no I don't want the next best thing

She is so relaxing! I am not typically into the sound of many pop women singing. I feel like they are belting at the top of thier lungs for no reason...I totally have to agree Colbie Calliet is great (I got a lot of my students hooked on her!) Anna Naylik has been around for a while and she is great too.

I love SarahBareilles's CD! It's the kind of CD that you can listen to all the way through. All the songs are great! She has a beautiful singing voice. The kind of voice I wish I had.

Hi. My name is Adam and I'm a SarahBareillesaholic.

And I think everyone else should be too.

My favorite is Between The Lines. I also really like Gravity ... and Love Song is pretty fun too.
I don't care if anyone laughs at me, but I'm also a Sarah Bareilles fan. She's a really talented singer-songwriter and musician. There aren't that many of them around anymore in the pop music world.

I've had people ridicule me about beinga Beatles fan. One "parrothead" who was really into Jimmy Buffet was mocking "I Am The Walrus" and was like, "What is THAT song about?" I immediately responded with "Well, what in the world is 'Cheeseburger In Paradise' about? If your idea of a paradise is a cheeseburger, I think you need a second opinion." LOL

I'm alsoa fan of The Monkees and The Carpenters. I know I'll probably get made fun of for it...well, you all seem pretty cool so maybe not.

I gotta say, she's got a great sound and lyrics. I think you might all enjoy The Gabe Dixon Band. Although not another female artist, it's very soulful piano playing and lyrics. Plus, Sara and Gabe are friends!
