Okay, so I LOVED Disturbed's first album The Sickness. I was sad when I heard Believe, and I didn't even bother with their third release. I just heard their latest single, and it sounds like they've gotten back to their roots. Has anybody heard the new album? If I buy it, will it make me sad, or did they just have to suck for a while before they got Truly Awesome? (Sorry for any Disturbed fans I have horribly offended.) ~

The Third Album was great. The new bassist is actually better than Fuzz. Believe was a bit off, but as long as you didn't listen to it all in one sitting, it was good. I've heard the new single, too, and I'll be buying the whole album as soon as it releases and I have the money to drop for it. David apparently went into the studio with the guys saying "Give me your hardest stuff, guys, I need it." This one's going to be heavier than there last. Kind of a mix of The Sickness and Ten Thousand Fists I think.

Hm. Okay, where to begin...

The first album was a lot rougher than the next two. As their musical skills developed,Disturbed's songs became more complex and deep. Instead of songs tending to break down into streams of profanity like in the first album, their lyrics developed into deep tales and profound expressions (Stupify vs. Stricken). Of course, I think they also lost some of their raw energy with the improved musicianship. Their third album, Ten Thousand Fists, was one I initially didn't like (it lacks the raw passion of The Sickness), but it has grown on me. Besides, their cover of Land of Confusion was awesome.

Indestructible, Disturbed's next album, doesn't drop until June 3rd, so I really don't have any comments on it. You can pick it up for $10 pre-order on Amazon, and I'm sureBest Buy will also have it discounted on the first day. I'll be giving it a listen on the first day, and I'll let you know what I think.

For those that haven't seen/heard it, you can find the first single and the video for it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGIktm5VyvE

That is the MTV/"Clean" video. There is also another video that will be WAAAAAAAAAAAY too dark for most fans (it deals with suicide and deals directly with the subject of the song. I'd probably avoid seeing it unless you want to be ultra-depressed).
