My own. LOL!

There was one show that was just brutal from start to finish. The mixing was horrible, my monitor wasn't working so I sang flat, and we had a last minute fill-in for our drummer with another drummer who we've never even practiced with before the show. We got 1 song in at sound check at that was it. He had to learn the songs in less than a day by listening to a demo tape.

The highlight of the night was when my guitar cord pulled out of my amp just after a solo (this particular part was me and only me) and the stage went silent. My crew had no idea what happened and I ended up walking back and plugging it back in myself.

Primus comes next. Les stopped the show several times because people were throwing joints on stage and one happened to hit his bass. He then informed us that because they had to stop, they didn't have time to play Jerry. That was the last Primus show I went to.

ahhhh. Good times.

I will second Madonna as being the worst. The song selection was poor, the songs were too long and overproduced, and when she brought out her guitar, I had enough.
I enjoy 95% of the concerts I attend, but was hard pressed to find anything enjoyable here

I'd have to say the last concert I went to was probably the worst one....Journey! Their new lead guy sounded horrible live, and the band itself just seemed as if they were "going through the motions" on stage.

Night Ranger opened for them and they actually sounded awesome!

Since I like to go to venues where there are several new and upcoming bands there is usually a band that makes me run for the car, roll up the windows and turn the radio up.

Reminder to self: don't forget the ipod with ear buds

I saw we had a "best concert" thread:
http://advice.eharmony.com/boards/of...e-been-to.html (Best concert you've been to)

but what was the WORST concert you've ever been to?

For me it was Metallica / Guns & Roses at the L.A. forum YEARS ago.....Metallica was all right (never been too much of a fan of theirs) but GNR, whom I have always just LOVED, were just awful that night....so much so that my then boyfriend and I decided to leave before the show was over, and beat the rush and the traffic home.
LOL!!! What a coincidence.....I think that's about the same time Metallica and GNR were touring together.......I went to see them in Montreal. There were 3 bands...the opener I think (memory fails a bit) was Alice In Chains, followed by Metallica who only played about 4 songs before the singer got too close to a pyrotechnic blast and injured himself....the band stopped and left.......then GNR came on and lasted 2 songs before Axl Rose yelled "F$@# IT !!!", threw the mic onto the floor, and walked off the stage leaving his band behind playing on looking puzzled at each other......they played for another 30 seconds or so and stopped.....they too then walked off the stage. The crowd grew angry after 10 minutes of nothing....finally a concert spokesman came out and nervously told the crowds to "Remain calm", that their money would be refunded. The crowd smelled blood and treachery, so they took it out on the establishment......they piled chairs up and set them ablaze, smashed windows and displays inside and outside, overturning cars, bottles and other objects zipping by overhead..... it was a total riot. I didn't stick around to chance getting arrested or injured, so I split.

A couple of weeks later, the promoter of the concert went on the radio to announce that a refund would take place....the catch is, you had to have your stub. Who the heck keeps their stub after 2 weeks?? Anyhow, Metallica promised to come back at a later date to make up for the lost concert....but not for free of course. Meanwhile Axl Rose never apologized for abandoning the concert like he did....he claimed his voice was shot...and to be honest, he sounded awful....the whole band......they're simply terrible live.

The second most worst show was Van Halen just about 6 or 7 years ago......Michael Anthony was still doing his same old Jack Daniels routine with his bass solo and smashing himself against the amps........Eddy spent most of the time looking and posing for the video camera (they were taping it as well) and Sammy wasn't putting in a serious effort in the singing department....not to mention that he would let people in the mosh pit do some of the singing as well from time to time (all this for $100 per ticket). My Sister had never been to a rock concert before...she had bought me the tickets as a gift so I chose to go with her. Someone around us was smoking some wacky tobaccy, it was nauseating........ a lot of rocked out guys with severe male-pattern baldness clinging onto their last long strands of rock-hair. It was almost comical to see the atmosphere. I used to be a big rock admirer....but attitude and ego AND poor musical melodies by a lot of the groups I used to like have become the norm with a lot of musicians these days. Maybe I'm getting older, I don't know. I now would rather see Enya (if she would ever tour), perhaps Josh Groban or Michael Buble. Music has got to have melody and inspirational zing to make you feel something (whatever the emotion it may be).

Good day,
LK

krohnan nicely described some of the reasons why I will no longer date musicians nor anyone "with the band."

I've never been to a "worst concert." I always enjoy myself at a live show, and my ears are very forgiving of whatever the musicians deem to be the flaws of their performances.

I have a box with the stubs of just about every concert I've ever attended. Nice little memory box.

I can't really say I have been to a terrible show but I saw Pearl Jam at Austin City Limits last year. It had rained a lot that week and everyone was standing in a half foot of mud (which was actually a special blend of sewage dirt for the grass they put down). They sounded pretty good but I was disappointed because the only song they played from their old stuff was evenflow. It was kind of crazy too because they played a really long show and most of their lineup was just from the last few albums.

I got free tickets to see KC and the Sunshine Band a few summers ago. I was the only person there under the age of, I don't know, 50? All the drunk old men were grinding up on me and my friend so we evacuated pretty quickly.
