I don't know if guitar players get all the girls. Singers do pretty well in bands too. Drummers seldom get girls because they are weirdos.

But I do know that every woman I've ever dated has gotten weak in the knees when I've played guitar and sang for them.

So, in my experience, there is an element of truth to the saying.

Having been a guitar player for 38 years, it never really did much for my dating life. Although, for many of those years I was married so it wasn't something I thought much about. My girlfriend loves it that I'm a musician and recording engineer, though, I suspect she'd like it a lot less if I were still gigging and/or still had the recording business going. The hours are murderous in either case.

Guitar players don't get all the girls. The rich band producer does

(this is why he always does that impromptu 'audition' at his place...on how to handle the microphone properly )
