I'm all about the drummers! Wish I could play myself. Not that guitar players aren't sexy, I just prefer the drummers.

Maybe you can,a friend of mine felt that way,had the desire, went out and bought a set of drums for about 700 dollars and discovered he had natural talent....he was playing with a local band in less than three years...you only live once, give it a whirl.

Being in a band has definately helped me meet more girls.Once you meet them, though,it's up to you to keep them interested.I guess drummers are kind of hidden behind the kit,but there's some girls who definately prefer the drummer,or bass player.Typically, the lead guitarist and/or singer gets the most attention-but not always.

It probably seems like guitar players get all the girls because it is a very common instrument. It's common because it's portable and fairly easy to begin playing. I suppose the guitar is a bit more romantic than drums. When I chose an instrument I specifically stayed away from the guitar because they are a dime a dozen, so I took up banjo. Still learning. I like to be different.

lekhang,

As a gigging musician, I can say no. Only the girls you don't want are attracted to someone just because they are a guitarist.

I've never landed a date because I play guitar, but I have "accidently" lol, left my classical guitar in my back of my car when we went to the beach.

Oh??? you play guitar??? just a little bit.. let me serenade you.

But like others said, I play guitar because I love guitar, and I play classical. there is no glory in finger picking leyenda asturias. Its just a small facet of my entire personality. Just like being funny doesn't land you dates, but it makes dates much more fun. If you learn to play guitar to get chicks then don't. You should learn to play guitar because you want to play guitar and be happy with who you are. Leave all the chicks who love guitar for me! (haha kidding)

I used to love musicians. My ex-husband was a bass player in bands for many years.

These days, I avoid ALL musicians. I guess I've outgrown that. I don't need to feed their egos or fight off the other women drooling over the band at bars. I have no desire to be a band widow again... either alone while he's off at band practice or a gig, or putting up with the same riff over and over and over and over again until he gets it right at home. Or loud band practice in our basement... so loud I can't get much of anything done in the rest of the house.

I'd MUCH rather go out and listen to a live band with a boyfriend that has NOTHING to do with the band so we can dance together, instead of me dancing by myself or with the other 'band widows' and also so we can leave whenever we want instead of waiting until the place has closed down and then tearing everything down and packing it away before heading home at some ungodly hour.

No, I don't find anything charming about musicians at all any more.

To address the original question: In my experience the drummer is always the flakiest member of the band, so even when I was into musicians I wouldn't be interested in the drummer. The lead singer/guitarist is usually the most charming, but also the most high-maintenance in terms of needing his ego fed.

I started learning guitar for myself at the beginning of the year... and in Febuary I met a wonderful girl (who, on the third date, I played guitar for).

It's cool to be able to do that, ya know.

I'm a rhythym guitarist...I believe music is the most "beautiful" language and a great way to express your feelings...Ahh no I didn't pick up guitar to "impress" the girls. Mainly because of the Beatles, particularly John Lennon. If a girl likes me only 'cause I play guitar than I'd say she's pretty shallow and I'd find someone who loved me for me and I love her for her. LOL the funny thing is the very first song I learned on guitar was Lennon's "Hide Your Love Away." ;-)
