Having first seen it in 3D IMAX, then in simple 3 D, I have to say that watching on the TV..even a wide screen Blu-Ray was a huge comedown. I thought there simply was no way to get the dramatic scenes with their super 3D graphics into a TV set without a huge loss of quality.

The movie..still Dances With Wolves meets Pocahontas and Peter Pan at FernGully. However the world always needs a new enlightening movie to point out xenophobia in all its most miserable forms.

My daughter wouldn't allow me to take the 5 year old grand daughter to the movies to see this..afraid it would frighten her...shes (daughter) has never forgotten seeing The Wizard of Oz at the movies for the first time...where she hid under her seat, kneeling in Milk Duds and Ju-Ju=B's while the flying monkeys attacked. So she didn't want to harm her daughters psyche.

Mean Nana brought it over when I babysat...Brianna loved it of course and totally got the not very subtle cruelty that was forced on the Na'vi...but of course she loves Fern Gully also.

My vote..buy it just to enjoy occasionally. If a 5 year old can watch it without spazzing, it's good for most movie viewing ages.

I absolutely loved the movie and it's in regular rotation in my DVD player. I wish I had the opportunity to see it in 3-D, but responsibility has a way of getting in the way of things I'd rather be doing.

My school district has a way of doing things backwards: grades are due for seniors on this Friday, and my grade book will be locked at 3 p.m. Despite this fact, the seniors still have three more days of school. I plan to show this movie in my Applied Communications class because it fits in nicely with the quarter that we just completed on ethics.

LOL you know how much electricity that TV uses? I intstalled a 61 inch Plasma and it uses 800 watts I can only imagine how much a 140 inch plasma would use (but on the other hand you could heat a room with it).
