Contact... based on the novel by Carl Sagan. Covers Science, Religion, Big Government, Big Business, Friendship, Love, Loss of loved one, Professional and Personal Betrayal... and first Contactbeyond earth (thrown in for good measure ;-).We find they are explorers who stumbled onsomeone else's abandonedsystem to move about the Universe to find others and just let them know we are all not alone... but only if you have faith in the word of a scientist with no proof that anything ever really happened to her. Hmm... sounds like another thread on this site... ;-)
Contact !! What a great movie. Jodie Foster was absolutely wonderful in that movie!

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure has to rank right up there. This was before Keanu Reevesbecame a movie bad @ss. Yet he was still able to save the world as a slacker. " EXCELLENT! "

Still, my favorite Bruce Willis film has to be.. The Last Boy Scout. TLBS is my definition of an ultra-cool action film.
I have not seen that one! I am deprived of Bruce Willis! *gasp!* I think I need to make a trek to the Blockbuster I don't have a late fee at...

Jaws didn't think fish were food, just people.
Honestly, did they ever take the time to sit down and ask him?

I see him as a terribly misunderstood shark ... struggling with his inner desire to be a vegetarian (look at all the wood he consumed). But no one was willing to make an effort to help him.
Terrible case of gas pressure and bloating when trying to get a little ironin his diet (the steel diving airtank).

Her best work ever! Beats "Silence of the lambs" hands down.

This film has an awesome sound-track as well.

It would have to be "Tombstone" with Kurt Russell. Is anyone else sick of all the computer generated crap in movies these days ?

Um yeah, totally. You know like when you finally fly off the tube and you're waiting for the boat to come back and get you... dum dum... dum dum..... dum dum..... dumdumdumdumDUM DUM!! AGHHH.... I totally know the feeling lol. I don't think I've seen Robocop all the way through so I'm not sure what happens at the end.
I'm with you there. Btw, Have you seen Jaws 2? The shark doesn't even care if you're in a boat in that movie! Okay, it didn't really care in Jaws 1, but it *REALLY* didn't care in Jaws 2!

And.. you've.. never.. been able to finish watching Robocop? ::sniffle:: Peter Weller's brightest moment as an actor (even better than Shakedown or Leviathan, though those were both decent flicks)?! Not even once?! ::whimper:: A part of my soul now weeps.
Wait wait wait. I didn't say I've never been ABLE to finish Robocop. It's just one of those movies I've seen parts of, but not the whole movie in sequence. Don't weep, I will put it on my Blockbuster movie rental list. I will watch it faithfully and report back to you so your soul will become whole again. :-) Wow.... it better live up to it's expectation.

I've seen all the Jaws (which one was the one with the dolfins? That one sucked). He is really pissed after the whole blowing up of his mother thing. Or did they blow up the kid and the moms mad now? I can never figure that out. Either way, people are screwed.

That's why Jaws is such a classic. Reels you in (hehe) without all the computer crap and is still pretty freaky. Still makes me jump a little.

Wow. I'll let you go for it. Let me know what he says. I'll be safely on shore, tanning on the beach where people belong lol. I went on the Jaws ride in Orlando and I think he wanted to eat me then too. Not sure if I'm agreeing with your theory.
