Is there a movie that you LOVE but would never want to be remade? I often find re-makes are a little dissapoiting.

For me, I would be upset if they remade my favorite movie, which is Casablanca. What movie do you love but never want remade for fear of it being ruined?

The Goonies

although i dont believe in the idea of a remake ruining a movie. Rob Zombie received a lot of criticism for his remake of Halloween. The original still exists, so how is it ruined? The only thing that is ruined is the remake itself.

I hear that Spillberg and Will Smith are gonna remake Old Boy. That is a movie that can not and should not be remade.

"At the premiere of his movie SEVEN POUNDS, Will Smith explained that the Oldboyhe's working on with Steven Spielberg isn't a remake. "We’re looking at that right now," he tellsFilm School Rejects. "Not the film though, it’s the original source material. There’s the original comics of ‘Oldboy’ that they made the first film from. And that’s what we’re working from, not an adaptation of the film…" I'm sorry, does it make a difference? The problem isn't that they're remaking a masterpiece, it's that Will Smith and Steven Spielberg are remaking a masterpiece. I can't wait to see the PG-13 version of this story...."

another article said that a one of the writers for I Am Legend was working on a script.

I don’t believe any movie should be re-made. What was wrong with the first version that someone feels the need to bring it up to date? Let’s go make some money off a movie that did well in the past, because we do not have enough faith in our own creativity to create something worth watching. With that said… I wouldn’t want any of my favorite movies re-made. However, I do watch re-makes, because I fall prey to curiosity.

some movies don't deserve to be remade, other you can figure might be better updated. I was pissed when i heard The Last House on the Left was being remade because I thought the original was horrible. on the other hand, i just finished the Sleepaway Camp trilogy and i wouldn't mind seeing those films get updated.

why do you think Halloween got remade? movie executives (The Weinsteins?) saw a money maker. It has horror genre fans, it has Halloween (both movie and holiday) fans. and it also introduces a new generation to Michael Myers.

I have the Friday the 13th box set, yet I made a special 90 minute trip to a good theater to see Friday the 13 opening night....and I loved it. (granted, it was considered a 'reboot' as it combined elements of Friday 1-4.

....i also fell prey to the curiosity of the remake. I may or may not have found a copy of The Last House on the Left remake online and watched it. not nearly as brutal as the original.

"GONE WITH THE WIND" No one should even think about touching it. "Scarlet" was bad enough - Joanna Whaley Kilmer ick.
On a lighter note - "Ferris Buehler" and "E.T"
