As most of you already, we lost another EXCELLENT ACTOR Saturday Night.

Charlton Heston passed away. He was 83 years of age. As of this writing, the cause of his death has been revealed.

Thinking over his incredible body of work (film, television...even classic radio programs)...I find it hard to select one favorite out of everything? BEN HUR and THE 10 COMMANDMENTS immediately come to mind. But PLANET OF THE APES, SOYLENT GREEN and even his 2-year television role as Jason Colby the DYNASTY spinoff (which was called THE COLBYS) wasvery good.

I think he was an incredible performer...who stood up for causes he believed in.

So if there are any other admirers of the late Mr. Heston...perhaps you could share your favorite role or (if you knew the man personally), a favorite Charlton Heston story?

Hi Totally Confussed...

Charlton Heston did appear in a few westerns...most notably, THE BIG COUNTRY...where he played a corrupt ranch foreman. I think the film was made in 1958? [Gregory Peck and Jean Simmons were also in this picture]. Many remember this film for its musical score, written by composer, Jerome Moross, who later composed the familiar WAGON TRAIN theme song.

With the passing of Charlton Heston, we mourn the loss of a great American- consummate actor and defender of the Bill of Rights.

"What drove it out of you?" -Ben Hur

A question Ben Hur (Charlton Heston) asked the Roman admiral who would become his adopted father while in Rome.We are not atheists by nature. Augustine called it a "God shaped vacuum". However, it was in his hurt, bitterness, and disillusionment that the Roman admiral first began todeny the divine, and find justifications for his denial.

He was 84, no? I thought I heard that. No matter if it's a year off...perhaps he died of old age.

Seriously...no one else has ever come close to playing Moses or the Voice of God as well and convicing as him! He will be missed, but not forgotten.
