This is mostly for the men out there... What is it about these two movies? I have been told that it is required watching for every man and that they are always deemed the best movies they've ever seen. So what's the big deal (and quoting lines from the movie doesn't help)? I've never heard of Hamburger Hill ("That's because you're not a guy") and I can't make it through Princess Bride without falling asleep, yet I have seen several posts by men on other topic boards quoting the movie. I'm just curious...

I've never heard of these. Prehaps a google search might prove useful.

I've looked the one I haven't seen up, it's a Vietnam War flick, but my question was just to see if my friend was correct that "all men" have seen and love these. Apparently not. Good, I win.
