after a disasterous attempt at juicing back in the 80's, I decided to stop getting fresh juices at the local health food store and bought a Breville 1000 watt juicer. I call her "rosie"

it's amazingly fast, and i drink a fresh juice every morning, made of veggies and fruit- i even do spinach and collards, because an apple will sweeten it up nicely.

does anyone else here juice? any fave recipes?

Funny you bring this up. I want to start juicing. I'm thinking of asking for a nice one for my birthday which is coming up next month.

No. I never really thought about it, but it sounds like something that would interest me. Sounds like it would be a really healthy contribution. I need something like that. How much do they cost?

The Jack Lalaine one on the informercials run about $100. Plus all the shipping and handling they tack on. Not sure if it's the best one out there. I don't want to buy one that is going to carp out in a few months. Hmmm, I'm going to look it up in Consumer Reports.... if I can find the right issue.

Scarlet, do you feel or see any benefits?

That doesn't sound too bad. I truly may look into this. I really need a healthy turnaround. Just went to the gym for the first time in a long time the other day.

I am also interested if Scarlet feels any benefits.

I just looked up the Jack Lalanne (spelled it incorrectly before) and there is a buy one get one free offer. It costs abut $90 plus S&H and S&H on the second one as well. Hmmm, given me an idea!

ACK! Shipping is $60! I'll keep looking!

So, I went and did a bit of research and found that the Jack Lalanne one isn't as good as it sounds. I found some just as inexpensive, if not cheaper on overstock. And, they have super low shipping, so that is a huge plus.

Scarlet, sounds like you got a great one. I compared what you got the some of the less expensive models and your's is top notch.

My super internet detective work is coming out, so I'll let you know what I find out.
