Just think how many lives would be saved if insurances would allow for PET scans on people yearly or bi yearly> i know there are radation risks but so many people would benefit from this... mental health, cancer, heart disease... all these things could be better prevented and maintained. but USA is all about the bottom dollar and the class system, even if we dont call it that anymore. some people dont even get proper protocol treatment as it is now because they dont have insurance... My dad died from pancreatic cancer and it was not detected until it was terminal due to the position of the pancreas. but he had a tumor growing on his stomach and intenstines, all they ever did was biopsy his pancreas and do endoscopsys, it was missed.... until they opened him up to do surgery, they saw the huge tumor and closed him back up... but if he had a PET scan it wouldnt have been. so now because of some stupid insurance rule and money/control issues of the USA ( yes my dad had insurance and paid taxes) my dad left behind a beautiful family at age 51, 4 daughters and a son - 2 of which were not 18 before he died, i was 27. he has had 4 more grandkids after his death. but we are not about love and community, we are about money and individuality.... sucks for those of us who can see beyond that....

I agree with you. My husband went to the Dr. trying to find out what was wrong with him. He had a number of test which nothing. We were having a house built a week before it was finished. He was told that he had pancric.cancer and passed away 1 week before our 50th anniv. 6 months later. There was nothing they could do for him excrpt keep him contable. I could never figure out why they could not find it as it is easy to find if they look.
