Are you wanting to quit smoking?

If so, how are you planning to go about it?

Cold turkey? Patch? Pills?

If you've successfully quit smoking, how did you do it?

Thanks Lilycat for your comment on my post just recently. Yes, I have quit smoking. It is definitely a decision between the ears. I used the Nicotine Lozenges and it has worked wonderfully. I have been told if I need the gum or lozenges for even a year, don't feel any guilt...it is okay. This friend who I cut off all communication did encourage me to at least do that for myself.

I quit fairly recently. Been more than 2 months, possibly 3. I stopped counting.

I actually just looked at the pack of cigarette I had in my purse and said to myself "This is my last pack." There were about 4 left; I gave one to someone who asked for it, smoked the two others, but left the last one burning in the ashtray.

Besides some small urges while drinking (goes away after I hit beer #3) I have had absolutely no problem.

I also had the incentives of my son who has bugged me for years to quit and a boyfriend who had asthma. My boyfriend also made a comment while he was drunk, "You know, I've never dated a girl who's smoked before. But its OK! It's fine!" I knew at that point that is was NOT fine that I smoked. He also said something about kissing me was like kissing his woodstove.

Cold turkey doesn't work for everyone. But you have to start somewhere, right?
