350 lbs to 210-215 atm. I walked to start, then jogged, at 290 pounds I picked up weight lifting. I use kettlebells, body weight exercises, and powerlifting to stay strong and keep my weight down. I also changed my diet by focusing on lowering saturated fat and sugar intake for more filling foods with fiber and complex carbs. Nothing special as far as the diet goes, just a lot of veggies, higher protein foods and lots of exercise!

I carried a bit more weight when I was in college than I do now (I've been back at my high school weight for a long time now). My secret? Don't take second helpings! Leave some room when you leave the dinner table. I also hardly ever touch soda anymore. I keep a mug of water on my desk at work and sip it throughout the day. I remember one colleague who was shocked to see me drinking soda on one occasion. I pointed out that once in a great while, I'll have a Classic Coke.

about 4 years ago, i shed about 70 lbs, and have maintained that for the most part.

i totally overhauled (gradually) what/how i eat, and began an exercise routine. to sum up:

small, frequent meals. low fat. complex carbs. lots of green veggies. more fish. smaller portions of everything. more whole foods. little refined sugars.

these dietary changes came slowly over a period of time, but they work!

Hmm... Mine is hopefully a success story in the making.

i absolutely hate cooking (and the cleanup after), so I tended to eat out a *lot*. And, I like good food... Not a big fan of frozen dinners, because all of the processing just ruins the taste.

A few weeks back, I saw a commercial for eDiets.com while watching "You Are What You Eat" on BBC America. (Great show if you haven't seen it!) It was exactly what I'd been looking for. They fix meals fresh, never frozen, and ship them to you Fed-Ex once a week in a cooled container. One of their meal plans is specially designed for use with Alli, which I also picked up.

So now, I never eat out, don't have dish clean up, and eat fresh foods. It's been great! It's something that I would stick with even if it didn't cause weight loss, just because it works with my bachelor life so well and I know it's healthier.

The total cost is about the same as what it used to cost me to eat out most meals. So, it's expensive if you already do most of your cooking, but if you're like me and eat out, you can just replace eating out with this, and it fits right in your budget.

I am about a week and a half into it, and I have a little increase in energy... but more importantly, I've noticed that I am mentallymore alert, which helps with my job. I'm not sure what to think about the weigh ins... If the scale is to be believed, I've lost 10 pounds which seems impossible in so short a time. I'm betting that a large portion of it was water weight due to lower sodium.

Now I just need to take a cue from some of these other guys and begin a solid exercise routine. I have arch problems in my feet, so I can't walk or run much, but there's lots of other things I can be doing.

I went to a weight loss clinic to kick start my success after years of trying to do it on my own and failing. Last time I was there, was almost a month ago. I have maintained my weight loss here so far, but hope to shed another 100 at least. So far, I've lost 58 lbs.

What I'm doing now:

Exercise: body sculpting and 2 miles of cardio

Diet: staying away from grains, sodas, fast food, anything with grease or oil. Supplemented a lot more organic veggies and fruits. Having about 1 serving of meat per day. Took out90% of the dairy and sugar drinks. Still it the sweets I enjoy, but in much smaller portions and only once a day.
