I am 75% certain that I will be at a conference in Atlanta Nov 5-7th. I'm not asking you to move the Meat and Greet, but I would love to meet those who live in the area if you're not partied out by then.

I doubt I would attend much of the Saturday meeting, and if I came, I would stay through Sunday or maybe even Monday (or come a day early. There's pre-conference stuff on Wed, but I don't really want to spend that much time in session). I would most likely only be able to play on the weekend. Part of this depends on whether I can get some agency to pony up my hotel expenses, or if I can find a cheaper, nearby alternative to the Westin Peachtree Plaza. Any of you Hotlanteans know that area?

Yes, that is right downtown. Is your conference somewhere close? There are numerous hotels around there & if you can tell me where your conference is going to be I can investigate cheaper accommodations (on the Marta line, hopefully...lots cheaper than cabs). PM me the important details & I will look into it for you.

October 9-11 and 23-24 I have kids so those won't work. Any other of the weekends works.

It's looking like it's probably going to be Halloween weekend - Oct 30-Nov 1, due to the responses I've received here & on Facebook. I will give it till the weekend (Sunday evening) for anyone who wants to weigh in on the preferred date, but like I said, Halloween appears to have a slight edge on Oct 9-11 at present. Please let me know! I look forward to it!

There is an Atlanta M&G tentatively scheduled for Oct 30-Nov 1. The dates were either Oct 9-11 or Oct 30-Nov 1, however I've had much more interest in the Halloween timeframe than the earlier Oct one.

Once the date is set (I'm planning to call it this weekend btw) I will start planning on things to do. I know that the Georgia Aquarium & Coca-Cola Museum is one of the things we were looking at, I've also found some information on Atlanta Segway tours, Friday night Martinis at Fernbank Science Museum, Dinner at Murphy's in VA Highlands on Saturday night (possibly), Blind Willie's Blues Club, the High Museum of Art & a myriad of other things. All of these are suggestions & NOT set in stone at present...mostly, it's a time for getting together & visiting with all our friends from eHA. The things that we'll do together that weekend are subject to change, but the dates are pretty well set unless I get some late votes in over the next two days. I haven't looked into hotels for anyone, but if you find something on Priceline or somewhere that looks like a good deal you can PM me & I can tell you if it's a good section of town, how close-in it is, if it's close to public transportation, etc.
