ok, i know we can't get a list of the words we can't use. but i'm having a problem with the recent step-up of moderation in this area and for trying to bypass the filter. (which i'm doing here to just explain)

there was a thread started that used the word "fun bags" (which i personally find distastful- but that's just me )

anyway, I find myself bypassing the filter trying to post "bo..obs" in response. i don't know if the clinical terms are moderated either. can i say "b.re.ast$" ? i don't know.

the second issue i have is when i quote a post, even if my response contains NO suspect words my post is modded and the moderation is so slow it takes days for the post to show because the original post was modded at some point.

it makes me feel forced to bypass the filter, either to edit a quoted post or to simply respond.

i understand that the filter is in place to stop posts that are very graphic- but i also see posts that have been clearly been approved that contain the word for a female dog. how is that post approved and i can't post a relatively non- offensive word like the Bee double O bee word?

I know! I've had to keep my naughty words bottled up inside, and now I worry I forgot some of them.

I just think that either the moderation should be faster OR the naughty word list should allow for at the least the clinical names for things- that way people will try to bypass the filter less and stop using grade school euphemisms. is "jugs" or "fun bags" really less offensive than b.re,asts?

I think the only way moderation could be faster is if vcl's were allowed to do it. I'm not sure EH wants to allow that.

I agree, I think regular english or clinical terms for body parts should be ok.

I see you have a modded post above this one, scarlet. I am not sure what triggered the filter.

this is exactly what i'm talking about. the clinical word is modded. the first post here i succsessfully bypassed the filter.

gah! frustrating.

Clearly it's time to invent a new language.

He planted his carrot in my secret garden whilst tripping merrily about the mountains with his tongue, finding particular joy in the peaks, and also exploring with one hand my netherlands. In time we discovered that he was particularly talented at spelunking, and I gladly offered up the entire territory of my caves to his conquest.

Does anyone doubt what I was saying there and is it hot in here or is it just me?

It really would be useful to know which words to avoid. My biggest concern lately is all the attempts to bypass the filter with what are clearly and unquestionably masked off-limit words, and this has been done by newbies as well as more experienced posters. These are usually used in personal attacks or posts of derision about a partular POV.

Me, I just name my body parts so I don't have to worry about naughty words. Boys and girls, meet Sophie and Lulu.

I get modded yesterday for a word that means not wearing clothes or for the common word for restraining someone with ropes for sexual purposes.
