I notice some folk get carried away with long, drawn-out detailed statements; that not only results in few readers and fewer responses, but must give the moderators a headache! How about considering a limit of words or characters? Bet that would increase your popularity as well!

BAD idea.

Just because some people do not have the patience or attention span to read long posts does NOT mean that there should be no long posts. Twitter, BTW is inane.

Very simple solution: If you don't like long posts: DON'T READ THEM!

Some threads almost demand long responses. That is hardly getting "carried away".

I vote NO to any length requirements or limitations.

Don't agree. I hate to see this site become too restrictive. If the post is too long, you have the option to skip it and move on to another.

Well, I don't know about you guys but I think the 10 character minimum is useless a bit of a hassle. At least make an exemption for us over in CSC...Please.

Yes, I was just coming over here to see if anybody had started a thread about that. I know that things can get clogged up over a bunch of "LOLs" or a smiley face in response to a post, but it's WAY easier to skip over a one-word (or one face) response to something than to even skip a long post if you don't want to read it. Another problem with that is, since we can no longer delete our own posts, we used to deal with it by just editing it down to a period just to get rid of it, but now if we regret a post (or accidentally double post), we have to actually SAY something to get rid of it. Can't we please at least have the 10-character minimum removed??? Pretty please??? With whatever flavor ice cream you adore and a cookie AND a cherry on top????

With all the other new stuff, we lost our "delete post" button.
