EHA has to be one of the most interesting ways for people who may or may not be dating or in a relationship to share issues! I also think you're the most unique; offering a profile page, a way to send personal messages on that page, and the list of groups and their latest comments says a lot about the participant, so Kudos for that!

Having said that, I think it (EHA) has one big, obvious flaw;

If any of the groups seem to be inactive, or irrelevant, how come you don't close them? You have 106 pages of groups, including one called "x" and "cancel me" and other absurd titles that make most people lose interest. You also make it nearly impossible for an owner to close or cancel a group. Either put a time limit on them; so if no one has responded for say, a month, you contact the group "owner" (or maybe you don't bother) and close it, or suggest a new title or area of coverage for the group to the group owner. Continued success.

I understand that clean up of the groups area is on the agenda (though it has yet to reach the top of the list). But yeah; there is a lot of dead wood in there...

I do not like the idea of being able to close groups in the fashion that the OP described

A little TOO totalitarian for my taste. However, I agree wholeheartedly with the idea that many of the "dead branches" at eHA need to be trimmed. The due process should be fair, formulated and put into place before any trimming occurs, however.
