Hi.. I'm new here... I didn't know this group existed!! From the few posts I've read, most here have children with autism or aspergers. I'm not sure if there is anyone else here who is dealing with something similar to me or not.... My son is 13 and has ADHD, Bipolar and oppositional defiant disorder. I personally feel there is something similar to dyslexia, but testing proves me wrong. At the age of 13, you can't even read his printing.. he doesn't write cursive..
Anyway... I'm taking him to a psychologist every week... and also a psychiatrist--- nothing, absolutely nothing is doing any good. When I actually get to the place where I meet a man, he's nice for the first few dates and then the real kid comes out and he's horrible... he's mouthy, he steals, he lies.... how can I expect a man to deal with this? I am very up front with my son's issues with a potential date--- if he thinks he can handle it - ok.. if not, then don't waste either his or my time!
My third husband adopted him when he was about 3 yrs old. When the signs of the ADHD started, my ex didn't know how to deal with it and the emotional/verbal and then finally physical abuse began. I couldn't take coming home to the constant fighting-- and never knowing who to believe, so that's when we moved.
I apologize for the long post, but if anyone has advice, I'd be glad to hear it!
THANKS

Hi, and welcome to the group!

A couple of questions...it almost sounds like your son is either present during your dates or he is introduced to the men you date early on?

Also, do you think your son feel jealous of the men you date?
