My all-time favorite class was History of the US, Civil War to present, taught by Larry Buckley at Feather River Community College back in the early 90s. He was a great instructor and I took every class he taught. This particular class included a 3-hour lecture about how L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz was a political commentary. The passion and love for the subject shone through and was contagious. I love it when an instructor can make what they're teaching come alive. It makes learning so much more interesting and fun.

OK... your turn... What has been your favorite class so far and why?

I love legal ethics! Legal ethics are the rules that govern legal professionals. It's amazing to me all the rules involved inworking in the legal field. Legal professionals are required to walk a fine line every day. There are many grey areas. Like for instance if I know my client commited a crime I still have to defend him as if he didn't. ( I can't imagine the secrets mob lawyers must know!)However if I know that same client intends on commiting a crime I would havea responsibility toreport him to the authorities and stop him. This is one of the reasons I don't want to be a defense attorney . I'll stick to the divorces and custody cases.

I just started a class called "People,Power and Politics. Obviously an American government class. It's one of my electives that I chose to take.I have only had 2 classes but it's been really interesting so far. Especially with the election going on.

I had an Ethics class that covered Diversity & Society along with Race, Ethnicity, and Gender. After 16 weeks, (and then spending a week in a 3rd world country) I have a whole new appreciation on life in the U.S. The ones I still love the most are my Mechanical Drawing classes. Solid Works is my favorite of all of them.
