Therefore, it is not necessary to "get your hair done" or "buy an outfit" to go on a date.

In fact, I don't believe it happens (hasn't seemed to, in my experience.)

I favor letting the grease spots on me convey this authenticity.

I'm not sure I understand your point....wouldn't be the first time.

The hair cut and new outfit often happen a day or two prior to the date. For example, in preparation for a date, I may get my hair cut or buy a new outfit on Sunday, and then go straight from work on Tuesday to meet him for a date. (If the outfit isn't work appropriate, I would bring it with me and change at work before leaving for the date---and in fact, I've done that before.)

If your point is that women shouldn't claim that dating is expensive for them because they have to get their hair done and buy new outfits, I completely agree. It's a ridiculous argument and I cringe when I see women trying to justify that their contribution to the equation is what they shell out on hair and clothes. The truth is, when I invest in my hair and clothes, I do it for me. (And it often increases my self-confidence, which usually benefits my dating life, but it's indirect.)

Totally agree with this point. I always build in some prep time for a date such as this.

cp30 gave me the idea once to get a gym membership for its use of a conveniently located bathroom for a mid-week date. lol! I kind of like that idea. And I can claim I have a gym membership. lol! (j/k)

I don't book a special hair appointment for a date, but I have been known to buy a new shirt or something.

It happens.
