Last week I learned that a woman I know is returning to work as a man.

It turns out that he recently discovered that he was born male; dangerously ill and not expected to survive. A medical decision was made that this child would be raised female soon after his birth. And that's what happened.

After I got past my initial 'whoa - tmi to process' reaction, I realised I feel he is very courageous. I am not sure I could go back to the same job/company, where so many people knew him as a woman.

I am quite interested to know how our male population here would feel if this occurred in your workplace?

This does not sound to bad. Just try and accept people for who they are, and not judge any person unless given a good reason to.

Ask yourself if you were that person, how would you like to be treated?? Just my humble male opinion.

Thanks. It was okay - managed to remember to use he, him, his and his male name.

Since there are more men than women in my workplace, I'm more looking for insight from the men here if there is anything in this situation that could cause discomfort? So I can try to prevent it from becoming a problem. At Management level, we've covered off discretion, right to privacy and looking out for discrimination type behaviour ... which is somewhat broad.
