There is no way to destroy evil but there is an adage you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar. That and evertime you treat evil with destruction you just create more evil. I have never seen more evil being created by niceness.

What is evil? Is evil a noun referring to a person, place, or thing? Or is evil an adjective that we assign to bad behavior?

I don't really think that evil can ever be fully stopped, however one could always send poetry to lull it into a false sense of security. Lure it to a strategic place with milk and cookies, and then attack and destroy! I still think that sadly some evil would escape though.

Ok, well what evil was created when the South was defeated and the Third Reich was destroyed. You'll have to give me an example of more evil being created when you remove evil...it's like saying you cause cancer by treating it.

And yes, there is more evil created by niceness because every single time evil is allowed to grow it's under the idea of "well we really don't understand what they (Sadaam, Hitler, Chavez, etc.) are really about so we need to just mind our own business and let those people worry it because the universe will always just right itself and if they are really evil then it can't survive on it's own...etc...etc..." (being nice is not doing anything....'everything will be ok if you just let it....give peace a chance... they're not evil, just misunderstood...).

You can't stop evil. Evil is a judgement , a moral play, a perception. you can't kill or remove it! There will always be sick, twisted people in this world that will always perpetrate the visions of evil that we judge. Someone will always be disgruntled or feel they deserve better so why not take it out on those that have done better. The only way I can concieve of removing evil is to remove all those capable or render them incapable of committing evil. The second being much more difficult then the first. Lot o' luck!

Because just as I believe there is some good in every person (niave maybe but hey) I also believe that there is evil in every person. That doesn't neccissarily make themevil, it makes them capable of it. Soas long as there are people, there is evil. It's why communism didn't work out.

"Evil" is assuming everyone shares your definition of something... "Evil" is simplistic generalizations that avoid any deeper understanding.

I thought this group was for INTELLIGENT discussion...
