I have25 matches and only 2 communicated on the free weekend. Both these guys wer atleast 2000 km away...sigh...

"2000 km"? What is this "km" gibberish you speak of?

Listen to me now beleive me later. In 5 years your road signs will be in km and you'll be measuring in meters not feet. Resistance is futile. Once the cars built in the USA to be sold in the USA start showing both km/ hour and miles / hour...the end is near. Sorry...but you heard it here first.
Yeah, I'm with tweet. They teach it in the schools and have been for a pretty long time. I can't remember the last vehicle I've had that didn't have the metric speed below the american standard. I think they actually tried changing some of the road signs back in the 70s and 80s (I wasn't around until '83 ). It didn't go over well from what I heard. Most Americans can't judge distance in kilometers, I can do some quick math in my head and guestimate but I can't "see" in kilometers. I h@te fractions though, I wouldn't resist the metric system because of that reason alone. I can't stand it how American automakers use BOTH metric and US bolts. Makes it a b1tch to find the right wrench. LoL

Fractions? Where are you getting this fraction nonsense? Metric is all base ten. There are no more fractions in metric than there are in the old English system that we still use. Converting from metric to metric is simplistically easy; you just move the decimal place. It's when you have to convert to or from our current archaic system that difficulties arise.

We should definitely switch to metric - it's flat out easier. You'll learn to "see" in km soon enough if you try.

Or the good ones I get that are in the 100 mile range close me because of distance. ARRGGHH. That is nothing for me.
I had someone close me with the distance as the reason and he was under 30 miles away--but I'm not saying he was a good match. I've only had one match I'd truly call a good one so far and he is about 20 miles away and in OC. I think some men may be moreliterally looking for the girl next door?

I'm challenging the original supposition that there are good matches on eH. Not in my experience so far....

Maybe weshould get the metric system (x 10?) and apply it to eH?Naw, I can't imagine having200 matches with no one communicating. eH seems to charge an awful lot of money just to be ignored.

Thewaiting period foryour EH match to respond to your communication is logarithmically proportional to the level of your interest in that match (but the wait time is not infinite unless your subscription ends.)

A metric eH would be great--so I would no longer get 7 matches a day I would get 10.

Then we shift the decimal place over one:

removes 4/10 no photo/incomplete profiles, 5/10who will close me (mainly for theother reason), and leave 1/10 who will probably hang out on me new list and never contact me.

After about 10 days, 100 matches are widdled down to 10, and 1/10 might actuallyinitiate communication.

The metric system is beautiful in its simplicity. Was there another way you had in mind for it Minosa?
