This thread is born out of a request in another thread.

One of my police friends is very techy and has a strong interest in Internet security. He's done work for the FBI on cyber crimes and has built his own cyber crime lab here.

One of the things he finds surprising is the number of people that have wireless networks but do not have any password protection on them. He says one of the biggest reasons to do this is your own liability.

I just finally set mine up. I hate having to do this but given our society's declining morals it is very important.

Also another tip. Take all your passwords and put them on notepad or wordpad then copy and paste them when you log in. That way key logging programs cannot steal your passwords. Many accounts (even Gmail and Hotmail) are being hacked these days so be safe.
