I'd like to ask the President the following question... what question would you like to ask him?
- Why health care reform does not include tort reform?

- Hillary Clinton was recently in Pakistan telling the leadership that they do no have to take our money. Why are we giving away millions of dollars to a Muslim nation in the first place? Why are we giving aid we cannot afford to give? Why are we spending astronomically more than is necessary to stimulate the economy? What do you intend to do when inflation renders the value of the dollar not worth the paper it is printed on, and it takes a wheelbarrow full of greenbacks to buy a loaf of bread?

Very good questions, and hopefully you also won't mind asking:
-If you're going to have "Tort Reform" (limiting patients' malpractice claims), then why not also put a limit on health insurance profits (which from 2000 to 2007, rose 428 percent for the top 10 companies)?
-Or, why are health insurance companies currently denying over 1 in 5 of every health claim (which begs the other question, what the heck are we paying for)?
- And while we're on the subject of "foreign aid", why are we continuing to give Israel over $2.5 BILLION a year in money and weapons, especially so they can use it to beat up on the Palestinians, and only further fuel the Middle East's hatred of the U.S.?

Israel has an incredible lobby in Washington. So do the insurance companies. And court attorneys.
President Obama isn't going to be able to do much about any of those issues.

Yup, unfortunately you're probably right there, "Comedian". Geez, where's the lobby for the "people"?

BTW, I like your new avatar pic, although I'm not sure how I feel about having you "laughing" at everything we say.... um, would you mind turning around please?

Yeah, the GOP is trying to make it into a referendum on Obama. But Corzine was an ex-chairman of Goldman Sachs, made stupid comments about Italians & Jews, tried to lease the New Jersey Turnpike, had scandals and a recall petition (the 1st in NJ!).... hey, not even Obama could save this guy!

And Deeds, who just lost as the Dems lame-o candidate for Virginia Gov., wasn't much better... he waffled about even being associated with Obama... sheesh, no wonder they both got clobbered!

I think because they would be quickly wiped off the face of the earth if we didn't and a country's existence doesn't compare to us being disliked for it. The US is greatly disliked for a variety of reasons such as not having health care and having the audacity to actually try and liberate oppressive countries.

Gosh, WDOL, instead of being a self-described "Jewish Atheist Evangelist", sounds like maybe deep down you're really just an Old Testament "eye-for-an-eye" Fundamentalist at heart...?!

Yeah, the thing about Corzine leasing the NJ turnpike really blew my mind.

One of the things that really turned me off to Corzine is that he thought he played the voters like they were idiots.

He used f'n scare tactics. It was like he thought he was above everyone else.

I am a state employee. When Corzine came into office the first thing he did was take away a vacation day from us. We had always been given the day after Thanksgiving off, for 20 years.

He took it away. For no reason. It was then that I knew that this guy was on a power trip.

I enjoyed being in the voting booth to get him out.

A song from the Violent Femmes popped into my head...... "Dance Mother F..... Dance, Dance Mother F.....Dance".

It's rare that I get so passionate about politics these days!

I can't wait to see what happens!

Your post makes a good case for the idea that Corzine was just unliked rather than he was defeated because he was a Democrat.

The one congressional seat that was up for election was won by a democrat... that is more imortant in national politics and actually says more about the current political climate in my IMHO...
