You know those little drop-down boxes that pop up when you are filling out an i.d. box and password to sign on to a website?

I start to type and the little dropdown box comes up with the memory of million other times that I've signed in too fast and now the list is so long it is sooooo not helpful.

Any way to erase that list and start over? I only know that the list is computer specific as it is different when I sign on at work as opposed to my computer at home.

Are you referring to "auto-complete"? Or history?

auto complete... I don't want to turn it off... (although I would be interested in how to do that.)

Is there a way to erase it from my computer's memery so that I can start out again with a short list?

Try this:

  1. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  2. Click Tools and then Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options window click the Content tab.
  4. Click the AutoComplete button.
  5. Check or uncheck the options you wish have or not have AutoComplete.
Mozilla Firefox users can clear their history by clicking the "Tools" menu, "Options", clicking the "Privacy" button, and under "History" click the "Clear" or "Clear Now" button. Make sure you put a "0" in the number of days you wish to keep your history.

This was borrowed from Computerhope.com, sometimes when I type instructions it may not come out clearly but this should help you.

I've have built a couple of PC's and it was a required course in my degree program; which, is the associate degree prelude to electrical engineering in this part of the country. We also had to repair circuit boards and I built a simple circuit board for my own use once... emphasis on simple...

So I guess that I am definately a geek... that is the science part of our little group... welcome to the dark side! (evil laugh)
