I don't see how art can exist without it being a self-portrait, whether intentionally or not. However you create it, you're giving some insight into yourself. Even a portrait of someone else would be a self-portrait of the artist as well.

I think this is true.

Actually would apply to any endeavor or activity or job, right? not just art. Whatever you're doing, you're always there, doing it.
