If I buy more, I eat more.

I get paid biweekly but I've always gone grocery shopping weekly. When I went grocery shopping last week I thought I'd buy enough food to hold me over until my next paycheck.

I bought twice as much as normal and yet here I am starting week two of this grand experiment with little left to show for it... hmmmm....

I've also had a disproportional amount of strawberry custard shakes this week. I call them custard shakes even though they are made with ice cream because of my secret ingredient...

My rationale is that I have to use up the fresh strawberries before they start to mold...

Have any revelations that you would like to share?

I think you should get a motorcycle.

This way you will be limited in your, ahem, baggage capacity.

You will thus be spared the indignity of either moldy strawberries or an expanding waistline.

Unfortunately many of us have the "if it is there, I'll eat it mentality". I find that living a long distance from the nearest open grocery store had improved my ability to work around missing items, as I still forget the list when I do go shopping.

I am a cheap easy to please guy day to day...I don't need much at home. Grits are cheap and so is peanut butter....

I do a decent work lunch 3-4 days a week ($10-$15), and I'm a sucker for kabobs/kufte over garlic green beans with brown or veggie fried rice on the side....

But an extravagant meal with good company......priceless.

Excellent one.

Collorary to that...it's impossible to satisfy and emotional need with a physical want. Eating, self-gratification, and all your (everyone's) escape mechanisms just won't solve anything.

(Also known as "You can never get enough of something you don't really need.")
(Also known as "Any distraction is a welcome distraction.")

Also...

....the only people who don't have problems are people you don't really know.

Happiness is striving to remove long term sufferings, not causing temporary joys. (If you change your definition of "fun" to mean "doesn't feel bad" then you'll have fun about 9x more.)

Problems are like a gas...they will fill whatever space you give it access to fill.

Never guess at goals.

Typcially women seek understanding (talking); men seek solution (solving).

Happiness is informed by certainty. Uncertainty is the residue of unresolved upsets.

Worry is payment on a debt you may never owe.

And yet, Krispy Kreme is still my favorite therapist.

And they really stink, too.
