i wanted to take a scientifically sampling of the group to see if i should conduct a poll.

should i or should i not?

this will also help dennis lower the percentage of threads that he starts in this group.

and it is a poll, so it is scientific. although it may not be very humorous...

Possible poll subjects:

Will Iran start WWIII?

Is Chawks and the ghost of Marylin Monroe really the same person?

What do you eat for breakfast?

Are you a man or a woman?

What is the ratio of men to women here?

If a woman is nagging but there is no one listening, is she still nagging?

If a man is being insensitive should he take sensitivity training? Is forcing him to wear a bra good training for that?

Basically most of our a-theist women have abandoned us so if you scare away the theist women we will not only be an atheist group, we will be a men only group and you will most likely go to that dark hot place when you die... not that I believe in dark, hot places but... you know what I mean... I'm just trying to scare you...

Honestly, if you are just a bunch of lonely men, sitting in the dark, posting to other lonely men on an eHarmony advice board.... isn't that already the "dark hot place" you go when you die?

Yes, I think you should conduct a poll. And maybe you could answer the question of gender distribution of atheists. Now that someone brought it up... I know lots more atheist men than atheist women. Why?

I'm actually sitting in a well lit room, drinking suds, and posting to other lonely men.

Jean Paul Sartre essentially once said, "Hell is other people." Well, he didn't literally say those words, but that is essentially the idea of his play No Exit. I guess all of us "lonely men" locked together in a room for all eternity may capture the essence of Sartre's existential "hell."
