On a lighter note, I couldn't let your thread go without a response, Dennis.

Speaking of "Raiders of the North;" Do you think Fav-ruh might be trying to top ex-Raider quarterback George Blanda? How old was he when he finally retired ... fifty? Pretty darn close!

I will never forget the last playoff game Fav-ruh won with the Packers, since it was against the Seahawks. Those pesky Seahawk fans just won't go away!

And I must say, I thought the old boy was rather cocky. If you remember the game, the Seahawks took a quick 14-0 lead, and I was caught-up into the seventh heaven (and who said such heavenly apparitions are not real ). However, the elation was soon deflated as the Packers came back and won the game. But, Fav-ruh's offhand remark at the the end of the game was; "We spotted them fourteen points!"

However, turnabout is fair play, and the Hawks humbled him in his final debut with the Jets (in what was to be Holmgren's final home game as Seahawks coach. And, I'm sure you have some fond memories of Holmgren as the Packer coach. Each organization is at a loss for his departure).

I always looked forward to the Green Bay/Seattle games. Yeah I still have to say that I have a warm spot in my heart for that old fart... (Holmgren) was a little cocky himself when he left Green Bay stating that he made Favre and he can make another (QB) in Seattle just like him... yeah... O.K.

I hope they love interceptions in Minnesota because they will have one interception for every touch down.

So is it too late for some kind of Holmgren/Favre reunion? Didn't they just fire the Minnesota Offensive coordinator? I might be thinking of someone else.

Seriously, guys. You haven't figured out how the Seahawks work yet? However they start, they'll finish the opposite.

If they're leading at halftime, they'll lose the game.
If they're 0-10 for the season, they're going to the Superbowl.

It's really very simple.

As long as they beat the Raiders, I'm fine.

There has been a bit of a great rivalry there! Do you think Holmgren accomplished his boasting with Hasselbeck? After all, he too has thrown a fair amount of interceptions in his time. And, there was a classic moment when Hasselbeck got cocky in a previous playoff game with Green Bay. Seattle won the coin toss in overtime, and he said; "We want the ball, and we're gonna score, and win." And then he turned around on practically the next play, and threw the ball to the defender with his hair down to his waist ( After all, how could you not see someone like that). And then, he ran the interception back for a touchdown and Green Bay won the game ( Well, on second thought, perhaps it's a one-sided rivalry in the playoffs).

Well ... It looks like Fav-ruh plans on sticking around for awhile, and Holmgren might get stir crazy in retirement, so an NFL reunion of the geriatrics might be possible on down the road.

As for it being in Minnesota, I really couldn't say. I really haven't followed the Vikings. After all, only drag queens wear purple!

On this we agree! lol

I always liked Hasselbeck... There are so many things that you need to have to get to the Super Bowl... You really have to be running on all cylinders to get there. Special teams, defense, offense all have to be pretty darn good... It's difficult to have and even more difficult to keep...

What's next for Seattle? Who is head coach there now? QB?

What a lousy week of Football!!!

1) The Seahawks lost at the last minute.

2) The Dolphins lost [ I have been a Dolphin fan since my childhood, before the Northwest even had a regional team. Back in the days of the "Griese-Csonka one-two punch," "no-name defense," and the "perfect season." Sorry New England (19 and oooooooooooooooh!). Which is bizarre I know, since the Northwest is far as one can get geographically from South Florida in the continental U.S...]

3) The Cowboys won (I would have been happy if at least the Cowboys got beat. But noooooooooooooo).

However, the Detroit Lions won, which is evidence for the possibility of miracles.

And now... we are waiting for next Monday Night... and the showdown... Fav-ruh against the Packers wearing purple under the Big Top ( I must confess... It makes it hard to root for Aaron Rodgers).

Well, I've found room in my heart to at least understand Favre's behavior... I think it sucked the way he went about it but it wasn't all him. The media started the whole "will it be this year that he retires" thing... at any rate, I'm not worried about beating Favre.

I am worried about stopping Adrian Peterson. You need a reason to root for Aaron Rogers? How about this:

1. Due to injuries and an unsettled offensive line, Aaron Rogers has been sacked 7 zillion times in three games. In spite of that he has thrown 'ZERO' interceptions to umm 6 zillion interceptions for Favre.

2. The Packers are thee youngest team in professional football and are a respectable 2-1.

3. Because of the unsettled nature of the offensive line our running game has struggled and yet we still ran for plus 100 yards due to an additional half dozen scampers by Aaron Rogers.

4. We have one of the most exciting defenses in the league with 7 or more interceptions... Here Favre, Favre, Favre.... come to daddy... hehehehe

We have a mutual dislike for the Cowboys....

With Holmgren gone do the Seahawks have a personality? Who would date these guys? Besides Chawks I mean...
