(LOL!)... even when you answer virtually every question different than before?

Although, I suppose that "hope does spring eternal" (even in the face of all evidence to the contrary)! And frankly I think that's just what this is all based on, including conspicuously trotting out the occasional "lucky couple" who've "won the jackpot", just to keep expectations going. BTW, I use Match & Yahoo now... way better (and the 'matches' are lots closer)!

Of course if you still genuinely "believe", I've got this "really great deal" for 'ya on a "bridge" (or is it "cheap waterfront property", I always forget which)...!

I ditched both of them, eHarmony and Match.

With eHarmony, I just didn't like the fact that I couldn't do anything to help myself find matches. I always felt like there was an amazing guy that was just one personality test answer off, and I was never going to be allowed to meet him. I did that for about 3 months a year and a half ago.

What scared me was all of the really strange guys I got matched with. since I felt it was a direct reflection on the results of MY personality test. I kept thinking, "This is what I'M like??" Of course, the reasonably normal ones closed me immediately.

With Match, I was free to find anyone I wanted. Only problem is, they were SO messed up that I didn't want any of them. Lots of guys with ex and substance abuse issues. And once again, the ones that seemed normal wouldn't reply to my emails. I hung in there for 6 months and finally gave up a few months ago.

I just really have a problem with paying money to get dissed or stalked. I can get that for free. So now I'm just dating in the real world, which means I'm sitting at home, watching TV and posting here.

I've had one eH match who had made his personality profile public. I read it, and his is significantly different from mine. Theoretically that means we are complementary. I plan to go through it in detail at some point to see if there's anything to be learned there.

He closed me before I even saw the match. Man that guy gets up early! He actually was one of the most interesting matches I've gotten. Well rats.

I'm not holding out much hope that I will find someone via eH. But I have learned several things of value. I think by the time my 3 mo's are up (2 more mo's to go) the learning curve will have flattened, so I can cancel happily.

Back to flirting with the other dog-walkers! More fun, anyway.

ROFL! There's a commercial (I think it's for cable or satellite) where a large man and an average woman are on a blind date, and he says:

You look better than I thought. How do you think I look?
I thought you'd be more... athletic.
Why do you say that?
Because your profile said you were athletic.
Hey, I bowl 280!
There is a very thin, foggy line between what is a sport and what is a game...

Boxing = Sport
Monopoly = Game

Foottball = Sport
Darts = Game (which also implies that golf be in the same catagory)

Baseball = Game and Sport
Race Car Driving = Boring no matter which catagory you put it in.

That is not true.

I filled out the questionaire 3 years ago, and I was ruled unmatchable. They simply wouldn't take me as a customer!!!

Last summer I tried again. This time they were happy to take my money.

I had 300 matches that lead to 3 connections in 3 months. But they were nothing worth investigating further.

I think I am not in a dating mode right now. I've dropped my eH subscription, and I'll wait before trying Match, PoF, or Yahoo.
