Sounds like a Monty Python moment...
Pretty much. I slammed my head into a bicycle kickstand while remaining upright.

It's just a flesh wound...

Hanging from the eaves on a hook. Didn't even know I was bleeding until my hat was soaked.

The worst part was that I got 2 staples, a drug test and a breathalyzer. At 10am.

Oh, and stapes REALLY heat up in direct sunlight.

To touch the OT - Public option deferred by trigger is the best semi-likely outcome, co-ops are the most likely (along with tort-reform, and HIT, and pay for quality and Medical Homes and...take your pick).

Oh, and never rule out window dressing and rhetoric.....

Absolutely true Dennis. I personally believe that something akin to national insurance offers the best balance between patient preferences/choice, cost containment, and health outcomes. I have my reasons, but at the end of the day that is simply a preference. I'm not sure it could be implemented here. The reality is that our culture has very little tolerance for collectivism, and those buttons are easily pushed by entrenched interests.

I do think that the movement to reimburse for outcomes rather than procedures performed will take root regardless of the configuration of the insurance system. That is a huge move in the right direction.
