I think we’d need NASA to explain why did Dennis bump himself after 17 minutes?

I like the Kepler project. It allows you to perform a simulated analysis to discover a fake planet. There's also a website linked off of it where you can create your own virtual solar systems through an applet. It's surprisingly addictive.

In Melbourne Beach, where I live, NASA is, of course, serious business. I live within walking distance of one of the many NASA built observation points for launches. I am a HUGE fan of NASA. I've watched, cheered and been moved to tears by every launch I've had the privilege of standing on the beach and watching (20 launches perhaps?). The NASA channel is my terrorvision a great deal because conventional terrorvision is ... well... terrorizing. We had a rocket launch just last week that was not as great as a shuttle launch but worth the time nonetheless -- even though I couldn't go all the way down to the beach to watch it. Just this past August I was at the Stennis facility in Bay St. Louis.

*wipes some of the space geek juice off*

Why do you all think that they always try and cut funding to NASA? I do NOT understand this. There are so many things we could do without and I don't see NASA as being non-necessary. As well as the insane belief that the moon landings didn't happen and so on.

*note to self* I will try to somehow post some of my films of some of the night launches here to share with you all.

*note to you all* Melbourne Beach is about 30 miles below MILA (Merritt Island Launch Assembly), Kennedy Space Center, etc. Sad to say I never had children but I always wanted to name my daughter Mila.

ACRIMSAT

Project: Operating

Launch Date: December 20, 1999

Monitors energy from the sun. The data will be correlated with other "global warming" project data. It is theorized that global warming is due in part to increased energy output from the sun.

On vacation one year I circumnavigated Florida by car. I started on the west coast on down to Key West and then back up the east coast. I stopped when I tired, etc. On one of my stops I got lucky and found a condo on the ocean.

I was beat. I turned on the TV and put my feet up for a rest... The all of a sudden I heard this roar and the building started to vibrate! Before I eve had a chance to get out of my chair I saw this light start to move across the livingroom wall. I got up and went out to the balcony and there over the ocean was a rocket speeding into space.

The next morning I read of the saeillite launch. I spent the rest of the day at the Kennedy Space Center. Turns out I was staying only like 10 or 15 miles from there. What a trip. That was back in 1997.
