Why do we spring ahead and fall back?

What do people in Sask know that we don't?

If time can be minupulated every 6 months why don't we show up for work whenever we want ( ie late ) and simply move the time on the punch clock .

I don't know. We call it Daylight Savings here ... and I've always wondered if we are saving it, where does it go?

We switched first weekend in October - my home immediately warmed up. Which given the diabolical winter electricity bill I got, is a very good thing!

It never made any sense to me... I grew up in Hawaii where they don't bother with such silliness... personlly I wish "they" would leave it alone...

This started long ago and was introduced by Benjamin Franklin as a way to take advantage of daylight hours. We consume less electricity (lights, TV etc) if the sun is out later in the day.

I never liked the whole time change either. Woke up this morning for work thinking I am running late and come to find out I was an hour early lol.

Don't like. Can't stand it. Wish "they" would leave time alone.

Also, it seems a bit politically incorrect now that we live in a 'global community.' The whole world does not practice "Daylight Savings Time." Where I live, we have more 'usable' daylight hours now that we are "off" DST. Go figure!

Gotta' admit, that is a great feeling. Unless, you really could have used that extra hour of sleep.

And, where I live, we didn't have to turn the lights on until 6 or 6:30, now we have to turn on the lights when it's 5 or 5:30. This is what I grew up with, so, I have no issue with it. Just part of life
