I went to a wedding for the second oldest daughter of friends of mine who found her fiance through eHarmony, of all things. Crazy thing is he was only her fifth match when she signed up for a free weekend and he put her on hold for awhile before he finally contacted her. What chokes me up is I'm on eH for a few months, have over 250 matches and get closed out or close out all but two, whom I've emailed but not yet met. As happy as I was for her I felt like crying. I know someone will say this thread belongs on the main boards but I want some foolishness back from CSC so i don't feel so old, ugly, unappealing and silly for feeling jealous of a 30 something year old girl who is gorgeous and found herself an absolutely hunk of a guy., who, by the way, is only five years younger than me but probably wants kids.

Am I feeling sorry for myself? H e double hockey sticks yes!!!!!

Be of good cheer.

Go gettem, tiger.

YouTube - Frank Sinatra - That's Life

That's life, that's what all the people say.
You're riding high in April,
Shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune,
When I'm back on top, back on top in June.

I said that's life, and as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks,
Stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it, let it get me down,
'Cause this fine ol' world it keeps spinning around

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself, flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.

That's life
I tell ya, I can't deny it,
I thought of quitting baby,
But my heart just ain't gonna buy it.
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try,
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself laying flat on my face,
I just pick myself up and get back in the race

That's life
That's life and I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cutting out
But my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothing shakin' come this here july
I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball and die
My, my..

Lol!! Haven't heard that Frank Sinatra song for a long time....Well, I'm trying to stay optimistic. I went out and bought myself a cute little black dress, so I'm ready for a good dinner date or cocktails. Now all I need is the man who appreciates me in it.

Isn't that funny. I did exactly the same 2 weeks ago. It's not black but aubergine (eggplant) and it just clings in the right places. They only had that one which happened to be my size and I took it as a sign and bought it. I also have to find someone to wear it for

Here's another fave, from the 1959 movie "A Hole In the Head", starring Frank Sinatra and Edward G. Robinson...

YouTube - A Hole In The Head trailer

"High Hopes" is great fun!!!

Next time your found
With your chin on the ground
There's a lot to be learned
So look around.

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant

But he's got high hopes
He's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie
In the sky hopes.

So any time your feelin' low stead of lettin' go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant.

When troubles call
And your back's to the wall
There a lots to be learned
That wall could fall.

Once there was a silly old ram
Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram scram
He kept buttin' that dam.

'Cause he had high hopes
He had high hopes
He had high apple pie
In the sky hopes.

So any time your feelin' bad stead of feelin' sad
Just remember that ram
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt dam
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt dam.

So keep those high hopes
Keep those high hopes
Keep that apple pie
In the sky hopes.

All problems just a toy balloon
They'll be bursted soon
They're just bound to go pop
Oops, there goes, another problem, kerplop.

Oops, there goes, another problem, kerplop...

If * I * had that 1957 Cadillac convertible that Frank drove all around Miami in that movie, I'd bring it up to Canada and take ya out somewhere classy in it - you would look great in that black dress in there!!!! heeeeee

I feel ya girl... All my friends are married with kids. But, they love that I'm the "excuse" for our every-other-Friday GNO. We go out with the only intention of having fun together and enjoying each others' company. These are always the nights I get approached by men the most, it's the LAST thing on my mind. Whenever I'm into my own thing, is when others are into me.

So, you don't need a man to don that dress! Gather the girls for a nice night out! Nothing boosts your ego like hitting the town all gussied for no other reason than an enjoyable time with friends!
