I love cats. But check this out.

What do you think of this. A woman that I work with recently had to deal with the passing of her cat. Ok, I can understand the pain.

The freaky part is, that she had him stuffed! I'm not kidding. She now has the stuffed cat in her house. For me, it's like .

Some people take their pets ashes home, or even bury them in a pet cemetary. Ok.

I'm like, he's passed, and I sign the paper to take the body away.

What's up with this taxidermy thing ?

I've never understood this either. It creeps me out just a tad.

Hi all!

The Taxidermy thing was handled and explained over many shows in the TV series "Scrubs" with a stuffed dog that the character "Turk" I think had in his closet as he moved from place to place.

As for me I think its an image situation, if someone always had the pet around them and whether or not they get a replacement pet, their heart belongs to the original one and thoughts of burying it and letting go of it that way is just not something certain people can deal with. So there is a whole cottage industry (outgrowth of the sporting industry) where stuffing ones beloved pet is the norm for them. Then again, why do hunters stuff and mount their quarry on the walls, floors, etc? At a particular moment in time not too long ago, this was also the norm for those professional life long hunters, to have a whole room filled with their trophies.

Just some random thoughts since I found the comments here.

That makes sense. It works for some people, just not for everybody...much like most things...

I forgot about that dog that Turk carried around...that was such a funny show...
