Yes, I've had this happen with my cats too. If they see another kitty {ahem} "mark" their territory they will interpret this as hostile and start wailing. It sounds unearthly, doesn't it?

I had enough of this neighbourhood tom cutting thru my yard as a shortcut to his harem. so i borrowed my bosses dog who is territorial for one morning. Problem solved. :-)

Both of mine are boys and have had the operation...they still sometimes spray and the twenty pounder guards the yard and parts of the neighborhood. I know his scream anywhere. I usually just yell HEY!!!! Percy! Git over here! And then he comes back with his tail puffed out and looking like he weighs fifty pounds! He's funny and dangerous, but really sweet. I break it up cause I'm not interested in Vet bills for abscessed wounds.
That orange cat is evil - they know! hahaha
