Hi Folks,

Where else should I go but to CSC for my stupid questions!!! :-)

I just bought a macbook and I have never used a mac before (or even a laptop for that matter).

So I need some tips and shortcuts.

Off the top of my head, what are the commands for cut, copy and paste? And how do I select all??

Any other tips you guys can provide will be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you!

Oh Lizzie...you've become one of those Mac people...

I can't tempt you back to the PC side with cookies?

(Actually, I think I may go Mac for my next computer...I'm tired of Windows crap).

Lol,

My post went to mod land because I typed the real word for "carp".

Would a Mac remind me not to do that?

I rarely use the actual commands. I click on "file, cut, paste' from the application I am using. One thing about the MacBook is that the mouse pad is a "two finger scroll" to move the page up and down.
Gah, now you've got me thinking. Let's see ~~ To select all: 'ctrl' and click on the mouse pad. Select "select all"; then 'ctrl' click on mouse pad and up pops a screen with choices of cut, copy, paste....

That's about all I know... but since I've somehow deleted my status line from here, I'm really not sure if you should try my directions. Perhaps, the Mac manual.....mauh!!!!!

i got my macbook this summer and love it. but i rarely use the command function for editing. i use the "trackpad" for editing. it is very similar to windows for that.

but as i sit and type this, i am looking and the command line above "firefox." all of the command are found there. and when you see the funy squiggly box sign, that is the "command" key on the bottom row fourth in from the left.

Ohhh, Tink! I luv you! You are my hero.

I am so much smarter now than before...

two fingers for page scroll

and

command + touchpad = right click. Is this like PC laptops too??

I could kiss you!

I am using Safari?? I think that is right. I don't have firefox but I don't see any type of anything with Safari.

I am going to go try right clicking or command + touchpad and see if I am missing anything.

Do you think this will be like learning a second language? I will say I am loving the keyboard. It seems so easy to type. Plus...everything just looks real pretty and I am mobile. lol!!

err....try clicking on the little green circle thingy or of that doesn't work~ put the mouse on the bottom corner, hold down mouse button while dragging to the size you want it to be....does that help?
I prefer firefox over safari. It's a free download...
