How would you like that chaos cooked?

I really prefer mine raw, on the half-shell with a touch of Tabasco.

used to scuba dive in mexico, grab a bunch of chocolate' clams off the ocean floor.. get them in the boat, cut 'em, clean 'em, squeeze a lime on them, a little hot sauce and down the hatch.. life doesn't get much better or much fresher.. (although freshly caught dungeness crab, cleaned and steamed as soon as they come out of the ocean is a very close second..)

Never developed a taste for clams but I'm with you on the goodness of Dungeness crab. I prefer oysters and I'd just as soon someone else fetch and shuck 'em.

Used to live on a little island in the Pacific NW about a block off a remote beach. I'd walk down with a 5 gallon bucket and harvest mussels at low tide. Hose 'em down and throw 'em in a steamer with a bit of white wine and some garlic. Dip 'em in butter and serve 'em with some French bread right out of the oven. Yum.

i love oysters.. and mussels... fried oysters, oysters rockefeller, oyster stew.. on the half shell is a bit of a stretch however..

my mother made the best clam chowder.. and fried razor clams.. lordy... i brought my mother and father to alaska about 10 years ago.. they haven't been able to dig razor clams for decades in washington, so we went razor clam digging.. we're walking on the beach, i am doing the shovel work, and this little 80 yr old woman is walking around in hip boots sayin', "here's one!! here's one!!" i finally had to hit her with the shovel... cleaning a five gallon bucket of razor clams takes forever.....

oh yeah.....I prefer mine raw, on the half-shell with a touch of Tabasco. Also like mussels with tomatoe sauce and garlic bread. Fresh food. Life is good.
